Acceleration of ions to a constant energy for TOFMS [time-of-flight mass spectrometry] is achieved by [the] application of an electrostatic field over a known distance(from an ion's initial position to the exit of the acceleration region). By this method, all ions starting from that point, regardless of m/z [mass-to-charge ratio], are sent into the mass-separation region(the flight tube) with the same nominal boost in energy. 2, record 1, English, - flight%20tube

Tandem mass spectrometry... is a process by which gas-phase ions of an analyte resulting from an initial ionization undergo separation according to their m/z [mass-to-charge ratio] values, using a first iteration of mass spectrometry. Ions of individual m/z values(precursor ions) are then subjected to collisional activation so that these precursor ions will fragment, producing product ions of different m/z values. These product ions then are separated and detected by a second iteration of mass spectrometry; thus the name tandem mass spectrometry or MS/MS. 3, record 2, English, - tandem%20mass%20spectrometry

The lipovitellin was purified and its total lipids extracted and separated on HPLC [high-performance liquid chromatography]. A lipid was found that has identical elution properties from a C18 reverse HPLC column and mass as DCD. Referred to unit of mass of the solid, the difference(at constant temperature) between the enthalpy of a solid completely immersed in a wetting liquid, and that of the solid and the liquid taken separately. It must be specified whether the solid in the initial state is in contact with vacuum or with the vapour of the liquid at a given partial pressure. Measurements of the enthalpy of wetting of a solid equilibrated with varying relative pressures of the vapour of a pure wetting liquid may be used to derive the differential enthalpy of adsorption of the vapour. 1, record 14, English, - enthalpy%20of%20wetting

1, record 14, French, - enthalpie%20de%20mouillage
