An energy performance contract(EPC) is a performance-based financing mechanism that enables a client organization to leverage the technical and financial capacity of an energy service company(ESCO) to design, build, and secure financing to improve energy management practices and/or retrofits within a facility or group of facilities. This contracting model is a low-risk, turnkey service that delivers guaranteed energy and cost savings. The ESCO assumes some, or all, of the initial capital costs, and the client repays the ESCO over a specified period from the resulting utility cost savings. After the contract closes, the client receives ongoing savings from energy, GHG [greenhouse gas] emissions, and utility costs. 2, record 7, English, - energy%20performance%20contract

Tenth and last province to enter the Canadian Confederation on March 23, 1949; its territory comprises an insular portion, the Island of Newfoundland, and a continental one, Labrador, attached to the province of Quebec. With the royal assent of December 6, 2001, officially amending the Constitution of Canada and making effective the law previously adopted by the House of Commons, the name of the province was changed from "Newfoundland" (abbreviation: "Nfld.") to "Newfoundland and Labrador" (abbreviation: "N.L."), thus approving the name and abbreviation determined by the provincial Cabinet. 3, record 39, English, - Newfoundland%20and%20Labrador
Record number: 39, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The name of a province and its form, spelling and abbreviation are to be decided by the provincial toponymy authority, with the agreement of the Government of Canada. One uses "province of Newfoundland and Labrador" for the geographical entity, "Province of Newfoundland and Labrador" for the provincial administration, "Newfoundland and Labrador" as the short form, and "N. L. "as the abbreviation. Note the absence of hyphenation and the abbreviation without a space between the two elements abbreviated by their initial letter with a period, as the rule requires in English. When used alone, "Labrador" is abbreviated by "Lab. ". The new designation "Newfoundland and Labrador" remains singular because the entity is still a unit. 3, record 39, English, - Newfoundland%20and%20Labrador

A two-character provincial symbol must not be used instead of the abbreviation in a text or on a geographical map, a poster or a road sign. The Global Precipitation Climatology Project(GPCP) is an element of the Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment(GEWEX) of the World Climate Research Program(WCRP). It was established by the WCRP in 1986 with the initial goal of providing monthly mean precipitation data on a 2. 5 x 2. 5 degree latitude-longitude grid for the period 1986-1995. This was recently extended to the year 2000. The GPCP will accomplish this by merging infrared and microwave satellite estimates of precipitation with rain gauge data from more than 30, 000 stations. 3, record 62, English, - Global%20Precipitation%20Climatology%20Project

The concept of the dry vat developed from the realization that most of the fiber deposition on a vat former occurs during the initial period of cylinder immersion. By restricting the stock to a small part of the vat compartment, less wash-off of stock occurs and better formation is achieved without sacrificing much forming capacity. Some counterflow vats have been modified into dry vats by utilizing a specially-designed seal to isolate a selected portion of the vat. In cases where the vat is used exclusively as a dry vat, a half-vat can be used.... 1, record 82, English, - dry%20vat

1, record 82, French, - forme%20%C3%A0%20sec

Landscape maintenance refers to the general upkeep of exterior site spaces, including both hard and plant materials. The initial maintenance program on a site is the contractor's responsibility. A maintenance agreement for the period of construction and after is usually included in the tender documents as part of the landscape contract. It continues usually for four to six weeks after the project is finished and includes a one-year replacement guarantee for plant material. After this period, maintenance becomes the owner's responsibility. 1, record 89, English, - landscape%20maintenance
