Sjögren reticular dystrophy is an exceedingly rare condition... with both autosomal recessive and dominant modes of inheritance. A bilateral and symmetric reticular pattern of RPE [retinal pigment epithelium] clumping, hyperplasia, and associated atrophic degenerative changes is noted that may or may not be associated with a slight decrease in central vision. In the initial stages, pigment granules accumulate at the site of the fovea with a network that resembles a "fishnet with knots. "The midperiphery and periphery may be spared, but in some cases this may be the principal area of involvement.... The reticular changes probably appear in infancy and are often fully developed by 15 years of age. 3, record 2, English, - Sj%C3%B6gren%26rsquo%3Bs%20reticular%20dystrophy

Until two years ago the nature of promoter base sequences was totally obscure. Now, however, a number of different promoter sequences are known and soon many more will be worked out. Soon after the initial binding to the RNA polymerase recognition site, the polymerase diffuses closer to the start of transcription to a group of At-rich base pairs to which it binds more tightly(RNA polymerase binding site). The fact that both binding sequences are AT-rich probably reflects the fact that such sequences denature much more easily than doGC-rich regions, and so are obvious targets for an enzyme like RNA polymerase, whose functioning demands local denaturation. 4, record 8, English, - AT%2Drich

Predicting surface settlements is one of the key tasks for engineers in building urban tunnels. This work analyzes the set of information gathered during the boring phase for the northern tunnel of the "Toulon underground crossing".... The article then focuses on : the northern tunnel site of the Toulon underground crossing, the two real-time prediction methods used to control tunnel construction from 1998 to 2000, and the conclusions drawn from the surface settlement analysis along the tunnel. The first set of conclusions from this study highlight the importance of the initial geomechanical state of the ground, which has been inherited from the tectonic history of the site. The tunnel crossing of the site has revealed these differences in initial state, which assume the form of a sequence of alternatively contracted and dilated zones, thereby producing uneven surface settlements. 2, record 18, English, - underground%20crossing

1, record 24, French, - hi%C3%A9rarchie%20de%20becquetage

It is believed that traction and claw osteophytes represent different stages of a single disease process. Horizontally oriented excrescences, or traction osteophytes, initially form at the osseous site of attachment of the outer annular fibers(Sharpey fibers) to the anterior vertebral surface. Subsequently, periosteal deposition of bone and progressive disk ossification convert the traction osteophyte to a clawlike excrescence. It is possible that traction osteophytes, representing an initial stage of the ossification process, indicate an unstable discovertebral level, and that their conversion to claw osteophytes indicates increasing spinal stability that allows progressive ossification of annular fibers. 3, record 25, English, - traction%20osteophyte

Landscape maintenance refers to the general upkeep of exterior site spaces, including both hard and plant materials. The initial maintenance program on a site is the contractor's responsibility. A maintenance agreement for the period of construction and after is usually included in the tender documents as part of the landscape contract. It continues usually for four to six weeks after the project is finished and includes a one-year replacement guarantee for plant material. After this period, maintenance becomes the owner's responsibility. 1, record 27, English, - landscape%20maintenance
