In November 2001, the Canadian Seniors Partnership(CSP) was formed as a natural evolution of the Assistant Deputy Minister Seniors Cluster Steering Committee that had been established in the fall of 2000 to guide the development and launch of the Seniors Canada On-line(SCOL) Web site-a multi-jurisdictional, Government On-line(GOL) initiative. The Canadian Seniors Partnership is a new means of collaboration among government and non-government jurisdictions in Canada that has been established to implement service improvements for Canadian seniors. The partnership serves as a forum for information sharing and collaboration that does not interfere with traditional reporting relationships and accountability. The VSI [Voluntary Sector Initiative] is being co-managed by members of the voluntary sector and the federal government. A new secretariat created by the Voluntary Sector Roundtable [VSR] is responsible for coordinating the sector’s participation in this endeavor. Secretariat staff reports to a senior steering committee composed of members of the VSR and other voluntary sector organizations working on the Initiative. The federal government has a task force on the voluntary sector located in the Privy Council Office (the department that supports the Prime Minister) to coordinate its involvement in the VSI. The Atmospheric Boundary Layer Experiments(ABLE) is a research initiative devoted to atmospheric research. This project has been developed by the Atmospheric Section of Argonne National Laboratory. The ABLE is located on the lower Walnut Watershed, mostly in Butler County east of the city of Wichita, Kansas. This location is within the existing boundaries of DOE's Atmospheric Radiation Measurement(ARM) Southern Great Plains(SGP) Clouds and Radiation Testbed(CART) site. The establishment of this facility offers a virtual atmospheric observatory and provides essential research tools for addressing a myriad of unresolved fundamental questions in atmospheric research.
