After an initial ultrasound examination, the barbotage is usually performed when you are lying on your side. With a thin needle the whole injection area is first numbed. The calcific deposit is then approached with one or two needles and multiple punctures are performed. The procedure is highly precise and the needle is continuously watched on the ultrasound. Care is taken to minimize injury to the tendon. Sometimes water pressure is used through the needle to break and suck the calcium deposits in the area. Following the barbotage, an injection of steroid and local anesthetic is administered. 1, record 4, English, - barbotage

Two main types of sample splitter are in common use, known as calibrated lead devices, and dividing valves. Most of these are based upon the principle that the head of the capillary column constitutes only a small proportion of the total outlet from the sample injection block. As the carrier gas enters the block it carries a small amount of the sample into the capillary column while the remainder is vented away through a larger opening. This can be done by having the capillary column held at the axis of a circular hole in the injection block, or by having it forming a narrow arm of a T-or Y-piece at the column head. In either case the amount going into the capillary column can often be further regulated by means of a tapered needle control. 1, record 14, English, - sample%20splitter

Treating patients with vertebral fractures... First, the patient is given a local anesthetic. Then using a technique called percutaneous vertebroplasty, a needle is inserted into the spine at the area of the fracture. Doctors use imaging techniques, such as CT scanning and fluoroscopy, to guide placement of the needle during the procedure. Under continued radiographic guidance, the methyl methacrylate is slowly injected into the vertebral space. Then, the needle is withdrawn. The term intravenous drug has been used by doctors and drug users, so it can mean different things. The drug is usually put right into the vein, but some drug users "pop" a drug just under the skin. If the needles are shared and the first person has HIV germs, the chances are very high that anyone they share the needle with will become infected from the blood on the needle or in the works. Except for drugs given in a long drip method in hospital, drugs given by needle are now called injection drugs instead of intravenous drugs. This should stop the confusion between needles used by doctors-now called intravenous-and needles used by drugs users-which should be called injections. 1, record 20, English, - injection%20drug

Record number: 36, Textual support number: 1 CONT
An injection port is necessary in all g. c. [gas chromatography] and h. p. l. c. [high-performance liquid chromatography] systems in which syringe injection is employed. The injection port joins the top of the column to the mobile phase supply line, and has a third outlet through a small orifice covered by a self-sealing septum. Injection of samples is done by inserting the hypodermic syringe containing the sample through this septum so that the point of the needle is immediately above the head of the column. Design of the injection port must be such that it can be maintained at a uniform temperature and will possess a very small dead volume. 4, record 36, English, - injection%20port

4, record 36, French, - chambre%20d%27injection
