Exemptions based on an injury test provide for the denial of access to requested information if disclosure "could reasonably be expected to be injurious" to the interest specified in the exemption. "Injury" in this context means having a detrimental effect. The fact that the disclosure could result in an administrative change in a government institution is not sufficient to satisfy an injury test. It must be possible to identify an actual detrimental effect on the interest specified in the exemption. 2, record 1, English, - injury%20test

Normally, the medial tibia plateau protrudes anteriorly 1 cm beyond the medial femoral condyle when the knee is flexed to 90°... Frequently words and ambiguous or capable of being understood in several senses, defamatory in one but not another. What meaning is to be attached to them : that intended by the author? that understood by the addressee? or some tertium quid? The first(intended meaning) was long ago disqualified : one may be liable though innocent of any intention to defame. The second(comprehended meaning) seems most compatible with the purpose of damages being to compensate for actual injury, provided only that to understand the words in a defamatory sense was not unreasonable. In some respects, indeed, this test is important. The words, e. g., must have been published to someone capable of understanding them in a defamatory sense, not in a foreign language he could not comprehend. 1, record 3, English, - comprehended%20meaning

The most commonly employed technique for determining causation-in-fact is the "but for" test, sometimes called the sine qua non test. It works like this : if the accident would not have occurred but for the defendant's negligence, then his conduct is a cause of the injury. Put another way, if the accident would have occurred just the same, whether or not the defendant acted, then his conduct is not a cause of the loss. Thus the act of the defendant must have made a difference. If his conduct had nothing to do with the loss, he escapes liability. 3, record 5, English, - but%20for%20test

The prone leg extension(PLE) test is used by therapists who manually palpate the posterior muscles and observe trunk kinematics in an attempt to identify deviations from a supposed optimal. A dysfunctional firing pattern is assumed to exist when postural muscles(hamstrings and erector spinae) initiate the movement and a delay in gluteus maximus firing is evident. As well, inconsistent or altered firing patterns are assumed to be indicative of dysfunction. While dysfunctions in the trunk are hypothesized to alter the optimal firing pattern, distal dysfunction(ankle sprain) is also theorized to influence the proximal order of optimal firing patterns. An ankle sprain or lower leg injury is theorized to result in "imbalances" in the firing pattern of proximal muscles due to the dysfunction of distal segments. 4, record 7, English, - firing%20pattern

The nervous shock cases raise... the question whether a person's peculiar susceptibility to injury entitles him to special regard in the exercise of care from others. There used to be impressive support for the view that conformity to an external and objective standard of normality was postulated for plaintiff and defendant alike.... Eventually, however, this viewpoint yielded to the more open-minded foreseeability test... we have come to recognize that even those endowed with less psychic robustness than the model person or the physically handicapped are entitled to consideration from those whose activities foreseeably create unreasonable hazards in their path.... 1, record 8, English, - foresight%20test

The effect of good and bad posture can be very simply demonstrated by the following example, "The Wrist Test". When the wrist is held in the neutral position, a moderate blow can be applied to the palm of the hand without causing pain and discomfort. When the wrist is in the neutral position, it can absorb the force best. However, if the blow is applied to the wrist when it is fully extended up or down, the wrist is a poor shock absorber, and is most vulnerable to stress and injury. 1, record 11, English, - Wrist%20Test
