Print density(one measure of printability) is the optical contrast between the printed and unprinted surface... A higher ink application also has the effect of increasing set-off and rub-off. Set-off occurs when the still-moist ink smears off on the backing cylinder of the next printing unit, which then sets off the image onto the next page. Rub-off is when the ink rubs off on the reader's hands. These phenomena are related to the printing process used, and are caused by too-slow penetration of the ink into the paper or by inadequate drying. 1, record 2, English, - rub%2Doff

1, record 2, French, - effacement%20par%20frottement
