El establecimiento de la línea de coordinación de fuegos de apoyo debe coordinarse con el correspondiente Comandante aéreo táctico y otros elementos de apoyo. Los elementos de apoyo pueden actuar contra objetivos situados a vanguardia de la línea de coordinación de fuegos de apoyo sin coordinación previa con el Comandante de las fuerzas terrestres, con la condición de que el ataque no producirá resultados adversos en superficie, sobre la propia línea o a su retaguardia. Los ataques contra objetivos de superficie detrás de esta línea deben coordinarse con el correspondiente Comandante de las fuerzas terrestres.
