An ebb-tidal delta is a complex of shoals and channels on the seaward side of the inlet. It consists of sand that is intercepted from the longshore transport system and is carried seaward and deposited by ebb-tidal currents, where it is subsequently modified by incident waves and ambient tidal currents. Ebb deltas exhibit a variety of forms dependent on the relative magnitude of wave and tidal energy of the region as well as geological controls. 6, record 1, English, - ebb%2Dtidal%20delta

2, record 1, French, - delta%20de%20jusant

The discharge from the inverted bucket trap is intermittent and requires a differential pressure between the inlet and discharge of the trap to lift the condensate from the bottom of the trap to the discharge connection. Bucket traps are used for draining condensate and air from blast coils, unit heaters and steam heating coils. Inverted bucket traps are well suited for draining condensate from steam lines or equipment where an abnormal amount of air is to be discharged and where dirt may drain into the trap. 4, record 2, English, - inverted%20bucket%20trap

Catch basins have a sump area below the outflow pipe that enables sediment to be collected, whereas drain inlets lead directly to the outflow pipe. The advantage of the catch basin over the drain inlet is that, although the sump must be cleaned out periodically, a catch basin will cause less sedimentation in the drainage system. This reduces the problem of clogged and damaged drainage pipes, which are much more difficult and expensive to maintain than the sump portion of a catch basin. 6, record 6, English, - inlet

Fuel in the D4D is pressurised to an extremely high 135mpa within the "common rail" that feeds all four cylinders (older diesel engines have a separate pipe leading from the pump to each cylinder). The high pressure injection creates better fuel atomisation for complete burning and increased power output. And because there is less fuel wasted through inefficient combustion, the D4D delivers better fuel economy too. 3, record 8, English, - high%20pressure%20common%20rail

A common rail engine is designed to supply constant fuel pressure to electronically controlled injectors through a shared fuel reservoir. This means that the fuel supply is not dependent on the engine revs. A common rail system is built around four basic components : a high pressure pump with pressure regulator and inlet metering valve, a rail which contains a pressurised reserve of fuel, injectors which inject precise amounts of fuel into the combustion chamber as required and a Diesel Control Unit-the ’brain’ of the system, which precisely controls injector flow and timing as well as rail pressure while continuously monitoring the operating conditions of the engine. 4, record 8, English, - high%20pressure%20common%20rail

... a grease/oil/water separator containing three tanks to achieve separation : a first separation chamber, a trap tank, and a pump tank. The settling chamber separates out debris from the wastewater; the trap tank separates sludge as well as grease/oil from water by means of gravitational forces encouraged by a diagonal flow path; and the pump tank pumps the grease-separated water through a sand filtering means for further cleaning. The trap tank relies solely upon gravity to achieve separation of the grease from the water, with the cleaned water being removed by a pipe inlet situated near the bottom of the tank. The separator depends entirely upon gravitationally-induced separation of grease/oil and water in the trap tank. 2, record 9, English, - separation%20chamber

2, record 12, French, - puits%20de%20mesurage

A pipe, chamber, or compartment with comparatively small inlet or inlets communicating with a main body of water. Its purpose is to dampen waves or surges while permitting the water level within the well to rise and fall with the major fluctuations of the main body of water. It is used with water measuring devices to improve accuracy of measurement. 3, record 13, English, - stilling%20well
