The inner surface of the stomach is lined by a mucous membrane known as the gastric mucosa. The mucosa is always covered by a layer of thick mucus that is secreted by tall columnar epithelial cells. Gastric mucus is a glycoprotein that serves two purposes : the lubrication of food masses in order to facilitate movement within the stomach and the formation of a protective layer over the lining epithelium of the stomach cavity. This protective layer is a defense mechanism the stomach has against being digested by its own protein-lyzing enzymes, and it is facilitated by the secretion of bicarbonate into the surface layer from the underlying mucosa. 3, record 4, English, - gastric%20mucosa

3, record 6, French, - syndrome%20de%20Mallory%2DWeiss

Duct lining or wrapping-A duct lining or wrapping is usually a sheet of porous material placed on the inner or outer wall(s) of a duct to introduce sound attenuation and heat insulation. It is often used in air conditioning systems. Linings are more effective in attenuating sound that travels inside along the length of a duct, while wrappings are more effective in preventing sound from being radiated from the duct sidewalls into surrounding spaces 2, record 7, English, - pipe%20wrapping

Lagging, pipe wrapping. Pipes and large ducts often transmit and radiate unwanted noise from pumps, valves, fans, and other equipment into quiet areas through which they pass. The sound transmission loss of the wall can be increased by the addition of lagging or a jacket including sound absorptive material covered by a heavy, solid, impervious skin of plaster, cement, metal, or mass-loaded vinyl. 3, record 7, English, - pipe%20wrapping

Serous tumors of the ovary are the most common cystic neoplasms. Cysts are lined by tall columnar, ciliated epithelial cells, and filled with serous fluid. They are either benign, frankly malignant, or of low malignant potential(also called borderline). The benign cystadenomas have a smooth and glistening inner lining. The cystadenoma often have small, mural, solid nodularities; papillary projections, and capillary invasion. In the benign tumors, the lining epithelium is composed of a single layer of tall, columnar ciliated epithelium with small microscopic papillae. Frankly malignant cystadenocarcinomas have multilayered epithelium with many papillary areas and the formation of large, solid epithelial masses with atypical cells in places invading the stroma. A chest tube is a tube inserted into the chest cavity for removal of air or fluid, or both; it is needed when the normally airtight pleural space has been penetrated through surgery or trauma, when a defect in the alveoli allows air to enter the intrapleural space, or when there is an accumulation of fluid, as from pleural effusion. Excessive air or fluid in the pleural space can cause collapse of the lung and the danger of mediastinal shift. 4, record 14, English, - chest%20tube

Chest drain is a conduit to remove air or fluid from the pleural cavity. The fluid can be blood, pus or a pleural effusion . Allows re-expansion of the underlying lung. Chest drains incorporate the use of a one-way valve to drain fluid or air from the pleural cavity. The valve prevents back-flow of air and fluid into the pleural cavity. They are indicated for use when collections of fluid or air are present in the pleural space, and by draining the collection they restore efficient gaseous exchange. 7, record 14, English, - chest%20tube

The rotary dryer, sometimes known as a rotary kiln, is a type of industrial dryer employed to reduce or minimize the moisture content of the material it is handling by bringing it into direct contact with heated gas. The dryer is made up of a large, rotating cylindrical tube, usually supported by concrete columns or steel beams. The dryer slopes slightly so that the discharge end is lower than the material feed end in order to convey the material through the dryer under gravity. Material to be dried enters the higher end of the dryer, and as the dryer rotates, the material is lifted up by a series of internal fins lining the inner wall of the dryer. When the material gets high enough to roll back off the fins, it falls back down to the bottom of the dryer, passing through the hot air stream as it falls. 1, record 19, English, - rotary%20kiln
