INPUT LAG [3 records]

Record 1 2017-11-30

English

Subject field(s)
  • Information Processing (Informatics)
  • Software
  • Games and Toys (General)
DEF

[The] delay from the moment a display receives a signal from a game controller ... to the results manifesting on [the] screen.

CONT

Some people may notice video game lag due to input lag...

OBS

In French, the term "décalage" designates any type of lag in a video game system.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Traitement de l'information (Informatique)
  • Logiciels
  • Jeux et jouets (Généralités)
OBS

En anglais, le terme «input lag» désigne un décalage lié au délai entre la touche d'un bouton sur le contrôleur de jeu vidéo et le moment que l'utilisateur voit l'action désirée sur l'écran.

Record 2 2007-01-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Audio Technology
DEF

The changing of phase of a signal as it passes through a filter.

OBS

A delay in time of the signal is referred to as phase lag and in normal networks, phase lag increases with frequency, producing a positive envelope delay... It is possible for an output signal to experience a time shift ahead of the input signal and this is called "phase lead. "The phase shift is always dependent on frequency.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Électroacoustique
DEF

Record 3 2001-08-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Flight Instruments and Equipment (Aeroindustry)
  • Aircraft Piloting and Navigation
  • Navigation Instruments
DEF

The drift rate in a single-degree-of-freedom gyro resulting from coherent oscillatory rates about the spin reference axis (SRA) and output reference axis (ORA).

OBS

It occurs only when gyro and loop dynamics allow the float motion to lag case motion when subjected to a rate about the output reference axis, resulting in a cross coupling of the spin reference axis rate. This drift rate is a function of the input rate amplitudes and the phase angle between them.
