CONT

For this, one must, in each corner or, in other words, at the end of each straight line, make the shoulders enter the corner while keeping the head placed to the inside; and, at the same time that one turns the shoulders onto the other line, one must make the haunches, in their turn, pass in the same place on the corner as did the shoulders.... This is what I call taking the corners...

CONT

When the horse has started to obey in both directions at the shoulder-in lesson, one will teach him to work the corners well.

Want to keep a close eye on how much time your kids spend in front of the television set? Look for a new device called TimeSlot, invented by three North Carolinians. By using what the inventors call an administrator card, which gives access to a control unit attached to the set's power cord, parents can program both the hours in which the television may be turned on and the amount of time their children may watch. Each child gets his or her own bar-coded card, which he or she inserts into the control unit when ready to watch TV. An optical scanner inside the book-sized device reads the card and triggers a clock to start counting down the time allotted the child. It shuts off the set when time runs out.

We prefer the term "cross-under" because it helps us to stay ski focused rather than body focused. When we think "cross-under", we have a better understanding of the skis accelerating under the hips and the feet going further than the center of mass. The feet speed up and slow down while the CM maintains a more constant speed.

CONT

Many ski technicians call the divergence of these paths a "cross-over" movement. They see that the body crosses over the skis. The CM starts over the skis, moves in a little and moves still further inside as angulation increases.

DEF

The "Sun-Mar" three chamber system... The composting chamber. "Sun-Mar" engineers found that the ideal conditions for fast, odorless composting could only be provided in a rotating drum,(we call it the Bio-drum). The Bio-drum is uniquely able to keep the compost completely oxygenated, mixed, moist and warm, and so provide perfect conditions for fast, aerobic(and therefore odorless) composting. Waste enters the composting drum through an entry port located in the top of the Bio-drum. By turning the handle on the front of the unit, the drum rotates, and the compost tumbles,(assisted by a mixing baffle) thereby thoroughly and completely oxygenating and mixing every part of the compost. The Bio-drum is fitted with a door which closes automatically to keep the waste inside as the drum rotates. After turning, a lock automatically maintains the Bio-drum in a top dead centre position ready to receive new material. To ensure that the compost cannot get saturated, a screen at the rear of the drum filters any excess liquid directly into the evaporating chamber. At the same time, by protecting the compost from direct heat, the Bio-drum keeps the compost uniformly moist. Lastly, the Bio-drum has the volume to hold the necessary mass of material to retain the natural heat developed in the core of the compost. Insulation on the outside of the drum prevents heat loss. The warm, moist, oxygen rich conditions in the Bio-drum allow the microbes to quickly break down the waste into its essential minerals. When the drum gets 2/3 full, some compost is extracted into the finishing drawer. This is done simply by pulling the drum lock, and rotating the drum backwards. Now, the drum door remains open, and compost falls into the second chamber;-the compost finishing drawer.

Le système à trois compartiments «Sun-Mar». [...]
