The term "package treatment unit" is applied to a wide spectrum of plant manufactured [modules] assembled ahead of time, usually at a manufacturing facility remote from the site. A package unit is typically delivered to the site as a skid-mounted unit, pre-piped and pre-wired ready for connecting to the process tanks and mains services, thus saving on installation work and operational downtime.... Package units can... provide a first stage of treatment for effluent from industry, particularly the food and drink sector, in order to cut discharge costs. 1, record 1, English, - package%20treatment%20unit

One characteristic of a dry-pipe system is a delay in time between the opening of a sprinkler and the discharge of water, which may allow the fire to spread and more sprinklers to open. The delay is due to the time required to exhaust the air from the sprinkler piping. The difficulty may be partly overcome by installation of quick-opening devices which either increase the rate of discharge of air from the piping or accelerate opening of the dry valve when one or more sprinklers operate, depending upon the type of device used. 4, record 5, English, - quick%2Dopening%20device

Sanitary and storm sewer systems are an integral part of an urban area. Waste treatment facilities are carefully designed for industrial, institutional, commercial, and population wastes. To ensure proper flow of waste and storm systems, pre-benched manhole bases allow smooth transition and flows at junctions, change of pipe sizes and lateral connections. The pre-benched manhole base consists of a section of monolithically poured manhole barrel with channeled concrete between the inverts of inlet/outlet pipes with a minimum slope of 25mm or 1". The channeled concrete is smooth finished and in most cases a gasketed opening is provided for the insertion of inlet/outlet pipes. The manhole base has a joint on the top to allow for riser sections to be placed to reach the installation invert. The pre-cast, pre-benched manhole base allows for a high quality and quick alternative to cast in place benching. Using pre-cast, pre-benched manhole bases minimize construction time in the field and ensures a quality, long term solution in building storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure. Most pre-benched manhole bases are custom built for the contractor where the angles between the inlet/outlet mains require specific layout. In some cases straight through, 45 or 90 degree configurations are available for standard pipe sizes of 100-200 mm. 2, record 7, English, - pre%2Dbenched%20manhole

Mothballing is the process of stabilizing a facility so that no damage occurs to the facility should it make sense at a later time to incur the capital expenditures associated with continuing to operate, extending the life, or repowering the facility. Typically, a decision to mothball a facility might be made as a hedge against, or in anticipation of, changes in market conditions; i. e., increases in relative fuel prices, or an increase in the value of installed capacity.... Typical activities involved in mothballing a facility might include the following types of activities intended to preserve existing equipment :-’Racking Out’ or removal and storage of motor control center circuit breakers or 'switchgear’(this would also be done for a facility that has been retired and is scheduled for dismantling)-Placing a heat source or desiccants in the furnace to maintain a temperature above the dew point(at which condensation collects and corrodes the boiler structures.)-The application of grease or other coatings to reduce corrosion of components such as pumps and motors.-The installation of an air desiccant system to blow dry air through the steam turbine, condenser, boiler tubes and pipes. 2, record 8, English, - mothballing

Much has been... written about intelligent well technology(IWT), but not everyone agrees as to what constitutes an intelligent well(IW). Some feel that merely the use of permanent downhole gauges(PDGs) that monitor and collect wellbore and/or reservoir data, constitutes an IW. Then there are others who believe that use of simple hydraulic-controlled, remote-operated, downhole-flow-control devices with only on/off position control but no downhole monitoring, should be considered an IW. A definition accepted.... among others, is that an IW installation is one that includes all of the following capabilities : Monitoring : The ability to monitor wellbore and/or reservoir characteristics in real time; Optimization : Analyze the data from monitoring, and pro-actively adjust flow regimes from multiple zones or laterals; Flow control : Utilization of remotely operated downhole-flow-control devices... for adjustment of flow regimes. 2, record 21, English, - intelligent%20well%20technology

The development of intelligent well technology began in the late 1980s.
