The World Equestrian Games are the major international championships for equestrianism, considered by many horsemen to be more important than the Olympics, and administered by the Fédération Équestre Internationale(FEI). The games are held every four years, half way between each pair of consecutive Summer Olympic Games. The games have included seven disciplines : dressage, show jumping, eventing, endurance riding, vaulting, combined driving, and reining. Paraequestrianism will be included for the first time at the 2010 games(to be held in Lexington, Kentucky), while the FEI's two remaining disciplines, tent pegging and horseball, conduct separate championships. 1, record 9, English, - World%20Equestrian%20Games

"Happy Birthday to You" is an American song which is sung to celebrate the anniversary of a person’s birth. Non-English speakers have translated it into other languages. 2, record 10, English, - Happy%20Birthday%20to%20You

The "Happy Birthday" story begins with two sisters from Kentucky Mildred J. Hill and Patty Smith Hill... One day in 1893 Patty... came up with the modest melody we now know as "Happy Birthday"; sister Patty added some simple lyrics and completed the creation of "Good Morning to All" a simple greeting song for teachers to use in welcoming students to class each day... Here the trail becomes murky--nobody really knows who wrote the words to "Happy Birthday to You" and put them to the Hills’ melody or when it happened. The "Happy Birthday to You" lyrics first appeared in a songbook edited by one Robert H. Coleman in March of 1924 where they were published as a second stanza to "Good Morning to You"; with the advent of radio and sound films "Happy Birthday" was widely popularized as a birthday celebration song and its lyrics supplanted the originals... The Chicago-based music publisher Clayton F. Summy Company working with Jessica Hill published and copyrighted "Happy Birthday" in 1935... so under current law the copyright protection of "Happy Birthday" will remain intact until at least 2030. 3, record 10, English, - Happy%20Birthday%20to%20You

Today, most native pastures in the Black Soil Zone are not ’true native prairie’. The original vegetation has been altered because the land is not subjected to the same treatments it was a 100 years ago. Aspen trees, shrubs, bromegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass have encroached on the native Rough Fescue and Speargrass prairie. According to Modern Breeds of Livestock, "The American Saddlebred horse has a refined head with small ears and long neck with considerable arch. The withers should be well above the height of the hips. The Saddlebred is of good proportion, presenting a beautiful overall picture. Its conformation enables the breed to perform well in all equine events especially dressage, jumping, carriage and endurance. A distinguishable trait is high intelligence. Alert and curious, Saddlebreds possess personality, making them people-oriented." 4, record 33, English, - American%20Saddlebred

Compared to existing coal power plants, clean coal technology (CCT) plants have the potential to both increase the competitiveness and environmental acceptance of coal, through increased overall thermal efficiency and reduced emissions of GHG [greenhouse gas] and other air pollutants. Given the importance of coal-based energy to the global economy and the need to reduce emissions, nations throughout the world are accelerating the development of a host of CCTs including new chemical processes that extract energy from coal in the form of electricity, heat and synthesis gas (H2 and CO) with near zero pollutant emissions. 2, record 34, English, - clean%20coal%20technology

The new 524-megawatt power plant in Hindman, Kentucky, will use so-called clean coal technology, which generates significantly more pollution than natural gas-fired power plants and renewable energy sources, such as wind, biomass, solar and geothermal energy. The plant, which is expected to be in operation by 2004, will emit annually more than 1, 000 pounds of mercury, a potent neurotoxin. By comparison, natural gas-fired plants and renewable energy sources emit no mercury. "The term ’clean coal' is like saying 'safe cigarettes, ’"said Hawkins. "There is no such thing.

3, record 37, French, - lagunes%20en%20s%C3%A9rie

Apomixis is basically cloning through seeds or the asexual propagation of plants by seed. If a plant only reproduces by apomixis, and there is no sexual reproduction, then this plant is called an obligate apomict. If a plant reproduces both by apomixis and sexual reproduction then the plant is a facultative apomict and if a plant only reproduces sexually, then the plant is called sexual.
