Hexapod is a support facility to be mounted on an EXPA of the ISS. The facility will be used for the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment III(SAGE III). The facility has a bottom plate and a top plate. The two plates are connected by 6 linear actuators. Hexapod receives the pointing data from SAGE III and the actual base position from the ISS-EXPA. From this data the HEXAPOD control algorithm calculates the next position for each leg. Each linear actuator is driven by a double winding Brushless DC Motor, while the position is monitored by an incremental encoder. To sustain the launch load a launch support structure has been designed, which is released by dedicated electromechanical devices. Hexapod is controlled by a dedicated electronic unit... which interfaces to the Station via the MIL BUS 1553B. 3, record 5, English, - Hexapod%20pointing%20device

A specific increment's planning operation may begin several years before the relevant STS launch(or OMV [Orbital Maneuvering Vehicle] deployment from the manned base). A specific increment's executions operations begin with the Station Program's realtime support to launch of the relevant transportation mission(STS/OMV), and generally extends through the initiation of similar support to the respective follow on transportation mission. ELV [Expendable Launch Vehicle] arrivals at Station elements are contained within the relevant increment. For the manned base, increment duration may vary according to the number of STS visits per year(for eight flights per year, increment duration is 45 days; for five flights per year, 72 days). For platforms, increment duration is related to the period between servicing, between deployment and return to Earth, or between deployment and the end of its operational lifetime. 1, record 8, English, - increment%20planning%20operation
