A land mortgage is a type of mortgage loan which is used to purchase land or a lot, in contrast with a structure which has been built on a piece of land. Buyers of raw land usually purchase land with the intent of developing it or establishing a structure. Land mortgages are different from mortgages for structures because, from the point of view of a bank, land is a less secure investment. If someone defaults on a land mortgage, the bank will be left with an empty lot which could be difficult to resell.

The attitude indicator(also called the artificial horizon or the gyro horizon) provides the pilot with an artificial horizon as a means of reference when the natural horizon cannot be seen because of cloud, fog, rain or other obstructions to visibility... The natural horizon is represented by a horizon bar on the face of the instrument. The attitude of the aircraft in relation to the horizon is indicated by a split bar or, on some instruments, by a miniature airplane. Following the uproar that greeted proposals in the sixties and seventies to build a freeway along the left bank of the Seine, Paris found its solution in going underground. Paris now has built or is building over 100 kilometers of high speed limited access underground roads that speed traffic under Paris along routes traffic could never follow above ground.

... speed limits will be 45 miles per hour ... as opoosed to the 55- and 65-mile-per-hour limits on other parts of the interstate highway system. Also, traffic will go in only one direction in each tube, reducing the risk of head-on collisions. And a system of height detectors and cameras will help highway operators to spot trucks that are too large or carrying hazardous materials before they reach the tunnels. No hazardous materials will be allowed in the subterranean roads.

V-bar : Flight Director Indicator... The V-bar command indicator is a pair of yellow, wedge-shaped V-bars that move up or down to command a climb or descent, and roll left or right to command a bank. The flight director system commands the V-bars to capture and track the selected heading or radio signals; or to maintain a desired pitch angle, glidepath, or an optimum speed during SC(speed command) operation. To satisfy the commands, the aircraft is maneuvered so that the airplane symbol is flown into the V-bars until the two are aligned. Input signals to the V-bars depend upon the mode of operation. The V-bars are biased from view by the instrument failure warning system; when loss of signal occurs, or sensing circuits fail that are associated with the selected mode of operation. They are also out of view when the mode selector control is in the OFF position.
