GUI NESS [National Employment Services System] is a micro application. The application provides a GUI [graphical user interface] through which NESS users can access and manage the information in the legacy mainframe database. The features of the graphical interface reflect the functions available in the mainframe application, but provide a "friendlier" face and standard MS Windows functionality. Functions of GUI NESS is the management of information related to employers, orders, and job seekers at HRDC' s [Human Resources Development Canada] and maintaining history files on HRDC clients-individual as well as employers.
