Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The concept of due process is rooted in English common law and expressed in "Magna Carta", Art. 39(1215), whereby the King promised that ’No freeman shall be taken or imprisoned or disseised or exiled or in any way destroyed... except by the legal judgment of his peers or by the law of the land’. This was later interpreted to require trial by jury. 4, record 4, English, - due%20process%20of%20law
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT
"Due process" is an imprecise and elastic term, the meaning of which varies with time and place. Basically, it suggests fundamental fairness and tries to apply that concept to all parts of the criminal process. The breadth of the concept depends upon the subjective view of the American courts, particularly the United States Supreme Court. In the last twenty years "due process" has included protections against self-incrimination, coerced confessions, illegal searches, denial of counsel or jury trial and unregulated eavesdropping. In the American system a judicial finding that law enforcement officials have offended due process will result in a complete exclusion of the impugned evidence and will usually result in the acquittal of the accused. 5, record 4, English, - due%20process%20of%20law

When a public official is impeached, that is, formally accused of wrongdoing, this is only the start of what can be a lengthy process that may or may not lead to the official' s removal from office. In strict usage, an official is impeached(accused), tried, and then convicted or acquitted. 3, record 14, English, - impeach

The process of creating the films and the subsequent dissemination is a community development effort, working with local, regional, and national groups, to create strategies for social change. [SkyWorks focuses] on documentary and community development projects in four program areas : working with children and families as a force for social change; promoting recovery by challenging stereotypes and systemic barriers with people experiencing mental health issues; informing and supporting community engagement in health care policies and practices [and] documenting barriers and exploring alternative approaches to accessing justice, preventing discrimination and ensuring fairness within the various legal systems... that structure the lives of persons belonging to particular marginalized communities. 1, record 19, English, - SkyWorks%20Charitable%20Foundation

Rather than foster full recognition of both English and French in Canadian society, the actions of the Department of Justice would result in diminished opportunities for their use. The breach of obligations under section 41 must also be seen in light of the principle of official language equality under section 16 of the Charter, as well as the recognition that governments in Canada should advance by way of legislative action the equality of status or use of French and English. The principle of equality of our official languages must have substantive effects in order to ensure its full implementation. This imposes a constitutional obligation on the federal government to take the initiative in creating a necessary institutional support to the use of either official language. This obligation is ignored by action that reduces the scope of language rights as they apply to the legal process under federal jurisdiction. 1, record 34, English, - by%20way%20of%20legislative%20action

Data ownership is primarily a data governance process that details an organization's legal ownership of enterprise-wide data. A specific organization or the data owner has the ability to create, edit, modify, share and restrict access to the data. Data ownership also defines the data owner's ability to assign, share or surrender all of these privileges to a third party. This concept is generally implemented in medium to large enterprises with huge repositories of centralized or distributed data elements. The data owner claims the possession and copyrights to such data to ensure their control and ability to take legal action if their ownership is illegitimately breached by an internal or external entity. 2, record 38, English, - data%20ownership

There are two ways that a searcher can circumvent this tedious process of using the Grantee indexes to "go back" on a title. Another lawyer can let him borrow his title abstract... The other method is the use of "tie-in clauses". For example, assume that at the end of the legal description in a 1984 deed from G. H. to I. J., the conveyancer who prepared the deed were to add a clause to the following effect : Being the same lands described in a deed from E. F. to G. H. dated Jan. 7, 1972 and recorded at(Halifax) Registry of Deeds office on Jan. 7, 1972 in Book 2529 at page 47. The searcher wouldn’t waste time searching the Grantee index, starting in 1984-he’d immediately open Book 2529 to page 47 and examine the deed to G. H.(Howlett, 1986, p. 5). 1, record 48, English, - tie%2Din%20clause

Literally, a crop in the process of growth, an unmatured crop. But a disputed term in legal parlance. Some authorities hold that a growing crop may be either above or below the surface of the soil, while other authorities hold that a crop is not a growing crop unless it shows above ground, and that underground sprouts do not constitute such a crop. Again, some authorities hold that a crop is growing from the time the seed is planted until the harvest, while other authorities hold that a matured, ungathered crop is not growing. Whether grass in a pasture is a growing crop is also a controverted question.(Ballentine's, 3rd ed., 1969, p. 538) 1, record 50, English, - growing%20crop

Magna Carta(Latin for "Great Charter", literally "Great Paper"), also called Magna Carta Libertatum("Great Charter of Freedoms"), is an English charter originally issued in 1215. Magna Carta was the most significant early influence on the long historical process that led to the rule of constitutional law today. Magna Carta was originally created because of disagreements between Pope Innocent III, King John and his English barons about the rights of the King. Magna Carta required the king to renounce certain rights, respect certain legal procedures and accept that the will of the king could be bound by law. 1, record 65, English, - Magna%20Carta

2, record 65, Spanish, - Carta%20Magna

Surely a government such as that of General Franco which considers itself to be the legal government of Spain cannot, as it seems to me, sit passively by while the proceedings are in process and would have the duty towards itself to contest the legitimation of its rival as party to the proceedings or, rather, on grounds of deeper principle, to attack the validity of the special agreement itself as having been concluded by an "illegal government". 1, record 89, English, - legal%20government

It is sometimes asserted that a state may exist even though it has no territory, and in this connection instances of the governments in exile during the World War II are cited. This, however, is not a true illustration because the cases of the governments in exile are merely examples of lawful governments functioning from another country during continuance of military operations. The dispossession of the lawful government by the invader pendente bello is no more than an incident of military operations. 2, record 89, English, - legal%20government

It is used principally for processing milk but has found much application also in the processing of ice cream mix, cream, and cream toppings.
