Denunciatory sentences convey a message of social disapprobation, with the will of society expressed through the severity of the legal punishment. The seriousness of the crime is central to denunciation; there is little need to denounce shoplifting(although there may be a need to prevent such behaviour) but great necessity to denounce the intentional taking of human life(hence the mandatory sentence of life imprisonment for murder). 1, record 1, English, - denunciatory%20sentence

3, record 1, French, - peine%20exemplaire
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
sentence exemplaire : Le mot sentence n’a pas le même sens en français et en anglais. La désignation anglaise «sentence» signifie le plus souvent peine, châtiment, punition, sanction, tandis que la sentence est une décision (comme la sentence arbitrale), un jugement, une condamnation. La peine est la sanction encourue, alors que la sentence est la décision de justice qui condamne à une peine. 2, record 1, French, - peine%20exemplaire

Research that takes the gender dimension into account is found in most scientific disciplines. For instance, a legal research project may investigate how gender-neutral legal rules affect women and men differently. An example of this is the effect of retirement pension rules. In many countries the rules are universal and gender neutral, and pensions are based on previous income. In practice, however, this theoretically gender‑neutral rule may have different outcomes for women and men. Women who have worked part-time or stayed at home to take care of children receive much lower pensions than men(and women) who have worked full-time. In legal research, the gender dimension involves exploring how gender relations influence the distribution of rights and duties, benefits and disadvantages, legal protection and punishment. 2, record 4, English, - gender%20dimension
