(council procedure)... "Division" is a method of voting used in some legislative bodies. It is taken by a show of hands, by yeas and nays, or by physically separating the members into two groups.... In the United States, the term is sometimes used as a synonym of "standing vote". When using this method, members voting for and against the motion alternately rise and are counted by the presiding officer. Note that the term "vote" also has other meanings. 3, record 2, English, - division

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 2, French, - vote
