Transport Canada. Civil Aviation Directive, number 8, 1992. The Deputy Minister's Circular of July 27, 1987 defines a Quality Assurance Review as :"... the continuing objective appraisal by Transport Canada of technical operations based on its legislative or regulatory requirements, to ensure satisfactory operations and technical proficiency in conformance with established norms and standards... ". Quality Assurance Reviews(QARs) of the Aviation Regulation program are the sole responsibility of the Director General. This responsibility has been delegated to Support Function managers.

Transports Canada. Directive de l'Aviation civile, numéro 8, 1992. La circulaire du sous-ministre du 27 juillet 1987 définit comme suit une revue de l'assurance de la qualité : «[...] une évaluation objective et continuelle faite par Transports Canada des opérations techniques d'après les exigences réglementaires ou législatives, pour veiller au déroulement satisfaisant des opérations et à la compétence technique, conformément aux normes établies.» Le directeur général est entièrement responsable des revues de l'assurance de la qualité du programme de la Réglementation aérienne. Cette responsabilité a été déléguée aux gestionnaires des fonctions de soutien.
