Frost seeding is an economical method of improving pasture and hay fields by broadcasting the seed on frozen ground. As the ground freezes and thaws, it opens and closes allowing the seed to be incorporated into the soil. This keeps the seed from germinating until there is a good moisture supply early in the spring. Legumes are the most successful for this system as they tend to be rounded, dense and most importantly, they-germinate at lower temperatures so will begin growth early in the spring. 1, record 1, English, - frost%20seeding

1, record 1, French, - ensemencement%20en%20sol%20gel%C3%A9

Sustainable eating is about choosing foods that are healthful to our environment and our bodies. According to the 2019 EAT-Lancet Commission on healthy diets from sustainable food systems, a global shift toward more plant-based foods would help feed the world's growing population a nutritious and sustainable diet. This plant-based eating style includes more legumes(beans, peas, lentils, peanuts), whole grains, vegetables, fruits and nuts, and [fewer] animal-based foods, especially red meat and processed meat. Limiting refined grains and added sugars is encouraged as well. 3, record 3, English, - sustainable%20eating

2, record 25, French, - roul%C3%A9%20aux%20l%C3%A9gumes

In many countries, variety registration also requires proof of adaptation to certain growing conditions and a test of the variety's processing and use characteristics. These Value for Cultivation and Use(VCU) tests involve multi-locational testing, determination of yield and yield-components, such as disease resistance, in comparison to the already existing varieties.
