Pilot fish,(Naucrates ductor), widely distributed marine fish of the family Carangidae(order Perciformes). Members of the species are found in the open sea throughout warm and tropical waters.... The pilot fish is elongated and has a forked tail, a lengthwise keel on each side of the tail base, and a low first dorsal fin. It grows to a length of about 60 cm(2 feet) but is usually about 35 cm long. It is distinctively marked with five to seven vertical, dark bands on a bluish body. The most significant difference between RADARSAT-2 and RADARSAT-1 payload technology is that RADARSAT-2 uses a fully-active phased array antenna, rather than the passive slotted waveguide antenna used by RADARSAT-1. Fully-active phased arrays offer a number of very significant benefits over passive antenna, but they also add great complexity.... There are at least three distinct types of cold pool : 1. Large(in areal extent), slow-moving vortices at latitudes poleward of roughly 50deg N & S. They are often over, or immediately downwind of the source regions of polar or arctic air masses, in such areas as the Canadian Arctic or Siberian Russia.... 2. Once cold air from the source region as detailed in(1.) above is caught up in the circulation of mid-latitude depressions, the characteristics of the air mass are altered. Warming from below(over relatively warmer sea surfaces for example), leads to instability developing, and with an accompanying injection of moisture(after a reasonable length of passage over the sea), cloudy convection(showers, thunderstorms) is triggered. Cold pools in these situations are often maxima of such activity, with surface charts showing west or northwesterly airflow, often with cyclonically curved isobars. The cold pool will move in the general synoptic flow, and will eventually warm out(disappear) due to sensible & latent heat exchanges within the environment of the cold pool. However,... sometimes the cold pool will transform into a slow-moving, longer-lasting entity, particularly if the feed of ex-polar air on its western flank is maintained-this occurs in highly meridional situations. 3. Aerofall Mill. The aerofall autogenous and semi-autogenous air swept mills are additional solutions for dry grinding. These mills are typically very large in diameter and very short in length achieving high throughput. The material is lifted to great heights using lifter bars and dropped with forceful impact onto itself in the mill. The mill system would include separators and cyclones downstream from the mill to return rejected material to the mill, if needed. The Rohde & Schwarz active rod antenna HE010 allows a sensitivity which is near the theoretical maximum even for small atmospheric-noise figures. The antenna, only 1 m in length, operates in the frequency range 10 KHz to 80 MHz, is largely immune to noise signals, has two isolated outputs and is therefore able to feed two receiving paths in wideband operation without reducing the sensitivity.
