Un ensemble de détecteurs internes, sensibles à chacune des bandes spectrales, mesurent et enregistrent l'énergie en convertissant le signal électrique produit par les détecteurs en données numériques. 4, record 22, French, - dispositif%20de%20balayage%20longitudinal

A form designer allows a forms manager to draw the form on screen and to define each of the fields that apply to that form. Traditionally, these types of applications generate a proprietary(i. e. vendor-specific) form definition and style sheet. The form definition includes a list of fields used in the form along with their definitions and associated attributes which specify such details as : masking information, security, data type, field length, etc. The style sheet defines the background of the form, for example there may be horizontal and vertical lines, boxes, field labels and user instructions, shading, etc. 2, record 28, English, - field%20length

This truss segment, called "S5", is a mirror image of the P5 truss segment that arrived for processing at Kennedy Space Center in July 2001. The S5 truss segment is a 10-1/2-by-15-foot aluminum structure that will weigh 3, 900 pounds when fully processed. The truss segment will attach to the starboard side of the S4 truss and will be the tenth truss attached to the ISS [International Space Station] as part of a total 11-truss, girder-like structure that will ultimately extend the length of a football field. 6, record 38, English, - S5%20truss

Touch football derives its name from the fact that touching(tagging) the ballcarrier rather than tackling him is the method used to stop his advancement. This is a passing game rather than a kicking game... variations still exist with respect to number of players [from 6 to 11 players or more], distances to be gained for a first down [local rules may specify 20 yards], total number of downs [on a small field a team may be permitted 5 downs] and length of game [agreed to beforehand by the teams involved].... A ballcarrier is considered downed when he is touched--that is, when one or both hands of the defending player tag him, usually above the waist. Offensive players may run interference for the ballcarrier but may not hit an opponent so as to knock him down.... Padded uniforms, helmets, and cleats are not worn, because the chance of injury is slight. 2, record 49, English, - touch%20football

The Space Shuttle stops within 50 meters of Mir, which is approximately one-half the length of a football field. From that position the Space Shuttle waits for clearance from Mission Control to continue. When the command is given to continue, the Reaction Control System is activated again and the Space Shuttle closes in on Mir at a speed of about 0. 05 meters per second until it reaches a distance of about 9 meters. There, the Space Shuttle stops again and waits for approximately 5 minutes. The Commander and Pilot make sure they can see the docking target clearly and fine-tune the alignment of the Space Shuttle with the docking target. A large black cross called the Stand-off Cross is mounted 30 centimeters(cm) above the back plate in the center of the target. When the Commander has the Stand-off Cross squarely in line with the docking target, he or she maneuvers the Space Shuttle and makes contact with the docking ring. Once a series of hooks is engaged, the Space Shuttle is then successfully docked with Mir. 2, record 50, English, - docking%20target

The laser gyro need not be mechanically dithered. The same result may be achieved by optical devices. A Faraday cell is a piece of crystal, which changes the phase of a light wave traveling through it as a function of an applied magnetic field. The effect is nonreciprocal. A light beam traveling in one direction is advanced in phase, while a light beam traveling in the other direction is retarded in phase. Reversing the magnetic field reverses the effect. Changing the phase of the light beam has the same effect on frequency as changing the path length. This scheme eliminates the vibration problem, but retains the random walk angular position error. 2, record 52, English, - random%20walk

Gyrolaser [...] 3, record 52, French, - cheminement%20al%C3%A9atoire

1, record 57, English, - random%20walk%20angular%20position%20error

Wind erosion models have been used to assess policy impacts on soil erosion, but validation of models has been difficult until recently. We evaluated the Environmental Policy Integrated Climate(EPIC) wind erosion submodel by comparing simulation results to field measured wind erosion sediment losses. Using standard model inputs and actual wind velocities, wind erosion was simulated for a field near Lethbridge, Alberta where field measurements of wind erosion were made in April 1992 on a Dark Brown Chernozemic soil. The EPIC submodel predicted erosion losses for each day that erosion was measured, and approximated the magnitude of erosion on 6 of the 7 erosion events. EPIC significantly overestimated erosion for one event and also simulated erosion on 3 days when no erosion was recorded. Field length had a larger effect on simulation results during large erosion events than for smaller events. The effect of surface soil water content on wind erosion appeared to be captured by the model, but only limited data were available to evaluate this aspect. Other portions of the model such as the effects of surface roughness and vegetative cover could not be evaluated in this study. 2, record 62, English, - Environmental%20Policy%20Integrated%20Climate

The intent of the reference code is to provide a simple method for interrelating the numerous specifications concerning the characteristics of aerodromes so as to provide a series of aerodrome facilities that are suitable for the aeroplanes that are intended to operate at the aerodrome. The code is composed of two elements which are related to the aeroplane performance characteristics and dimensions. Element 1 is a number based on the aeroplane reference field length and element 2 is a letter based on the aeroplane wing span and outer main gear wheel span. 2, record 69, English, - aerodrome%20reference%20code

Linear proton accelerators. The design principle applied in linear accelerators for protons was originated by Luis Alvarez at Berkeley in 1946. It is based on the formation of standing electromagnetic waves in a long cylindrical metal tank, or cavity, as it is sometimes called. In the design that has been adopted, the electric field is parallel to the axis of the tank. Most of these accelerators operate at frequencies of about 200 MHz. During the time required for a proton to traverse one of these tanks, the accelerating electric fields undergo many reversal of direction. In Alvarez’ design, the decelerating effect of the field during the intervals when it opposes the motion of the particles is prevented by installing on the axis of the tank a number of "drift tubes".... The electric field is zero inside the drift tubes, and if their lengths are properly chosen, the protons cross the gap between adjacent drift tubes when the direction of the field produces acceleration and are shielded by the drift tubes when the field in the tank would decelerate them. The length of the drift tubes are proportional to the speeds of the particles that pass through them. 1, record 78, English, - linear%20proton%20accelerator
