Motion planning requires exploring the configuration space of a robot or agent in order to find a sequence of feasible actions that maneuver the robot or agent around obstacles to a goal. However, not all motion plans are equal. In optimal motion planning, the objective is to find the best solution that optimizes relevant criteria, such as a path of minimum length, greatest clearance from obstacles, or minimum control effort. 1, record 1, English, - optimal%20motion%20planning

1, record 1, Spanish, - planificaci%C3%B3n%20de%20movimientos%20%C3%B3ptimos

The A[ star]: algorithm is a best-first search method. It means that the algorithm simultaneously contains several paths which may all be candidates for the shortest path. At any time, it selects the most promising node(best-first) at a time for expansion, and incorporates the successor nodes into the search graph. The criterion for evaluation is the length of the path from start to the node plus the estimate of the remaining distance(cost). The theory says that if the remaining estimate is an underestimate, the first solution will be optimal. 3, record 13, English, - A%5Bstar%5D%20search%20algorithm

The Doppler effect on sound waves is experienced in everyday life. When an ambulance passes us, the siren appears to change its note. As it approaches, the pitch is high. As it passes us, the pitch falls. The effect occurs with any type of waves, including light. In the case of sound the effect was described by Christian Andreas Doppler (1803-1853), while for the light it was observed by Armand Fizeau (1819-1896). That’s why sometimes the effect is called the Doppler-Fizeau effect. 5, record 24, English, - Doppler%20effect

Effet Doppler.

1, record 36, French, - matrice%20insoluble

mixing length [is] a concept used in the parameterization of turbulent transport processes. According to this model, fluid masses called eddies, distinguishable from the ambient fluid, spring into existence in some undefined way and then, after moving unchanged over a certain path length, become indistinguishable from the surrounding fluid. This path length, over which the eddy mixes with the surrounding fluid, is called the mixing length. 3, record 46, French, - longueur%20du%20chemin%20optique

Concerning the concepts of the veloroutes and greenways where : the veloroute is simply an uninterrupted and signposted cycling itinerary on a variety of surfaces : public roads or independent cycle paths. Cyclist on a veloroute have sometimes to share public roads with motor traffic. A greenway is a paved path exclusively reserved for motorless forms of transport : bicycles, hiking, jogging and roller blades. Then we can say that the lake Geneva-Mediterranean itinerary is a veloroute with approximately 60% of the total length classified as greenway. 3, record 48, English, - veloroute

In a long synthetic aperture(array), SAR focusing involves the removal and compensation of path length differences from the antenna to the target on the ground. 2, record 49, English, - SAR%20focusing
Record number: 49, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The main advantage of a focused synthetic aperture is that it increases its array length over those radar signals that can be processed, and thus increases potential SAR resolution at any range. SAR focusing is a necessary process when the length of a synthetic array is a significant fraction of the range to ground being imaged, as the lines-of-sight(range) from a particular point on the ground to each individual element of the array differ in distance. These range differences, or path length differences, of the radar signals can affect image quality. In a focused SAR image these phase errors can be compensated for by applying a phase correction to the return signal at each synthetic aperture element. Focusing errors may be introduced by unknown or uncorrected platform motion. In an unfocused SAR image, the usable synthetic aperture length is quite limited. 2, record 49, English, - SAR%20focusing

3, record 51, French, - cheminement%20al%C3%A9atoire

Subsurface drip irrigation is a variation of traditional drip irrigation where the tubing and emitters are buried beneath the soil surface, rather than laid on the ground or suspended from wires. The products being used today in subsurface drip irrigation come in three basic configurations : hard hose, drip tape, and porous tubing.... Porous pipe products emit water all along the length of the tubing. There are literally thousands of places per meter where water weeps out of the tubing. This design has shown resistance to plugging by roots. The disadvantage is its flow path is by far the smallest of the three configurations. This increases the likelihood of plugging by fine particles. It typically has the largest coefficient of manufacturing variability of the three configurations, which can be a major detriment because it prevents high distribution uniformities and high efficiencies. 5, record 52, English, - porous%20tube

L'effet Sagnac [...] Interferometric Refractometer. A third type of refractometer(Optilab) uses the shearing-interferometer principle for measurement.... The light source beam(e. g. 546 nm) is divided into two parts by a beam splitter, and fall on the detector. The difference in refractive index between the sample and the reference produces a difference in optical path length and this is measured by the interferometer in fractions of light wavelengths. Response of this device is linear, and the sensitivity is claimed by the manufacturer to be 10-fold greater than other RI detectors. 1, record 64, English, - interferometric%20refractometer

Centrifuge that has a tubular section bowl in order to obtain a sufficient length of flow path, and solids are deposited onto the bowl; thus as centrifugation continues the effective bowl diameter, and hence the centrifugal force, are reduced. However, such a centrifuge is easily cleaned, and by using a bowl liner which can be withdrawn, the recovery of deposited material is virtually 100%.
