1, record 1, Spanish, - magnetorresistencia%20gigante

Record number: 3, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Using a device called a Josephson junction, a SQUID can detect a change of energy as much as 100 billion times weaker than the electromagnetic energy that moves a compass needle. A Josephson junction is made up of two superconductors, separated by an insulating layer so thin that electrons can pass through. A SQUID consists of tiny loops of superconductors employing Josephson junctions to achieve superposition : each electron moves simultaneously in both directions. Because the current is moving in two opposite directions, the electrons have the ability to perform as qubits(that theoretically could be used to enable quantum computing). SQUIDs have been used for a variety of testing purposes that demand extreme sensitivity, including engineering, medical, and geological equipment. Because they measure changes in a magnetic field with such sensitivity, they do not have to come in contact with a system that they are testing. 3, record 3, English, - superconducting%20quantum%20interference%20device

4, record 3, French, - dispositif%20supraconducteur%20%C3%A0%20interf%C3%A9rence%20quantique

The heading indicator (HI) uses the principle of rigidity in space for it’s operation. The gyro is mounted such that it registers changes around the vertical axis only; i.e. direction changes. The compass card attached to the gyro appears to the pilot as though it is turning. In reality, it and the attached gyro are remaining rigid in space, while the aircraft and case turn about the gyro. The HI is not automatically synchronized with the magnetic compass. It must be set to the compass heading while level on the airport surface prior to take-off. 13, record 4, English, - directional%20gyroscope

Record number: 4, Textual support number: 2 CONT

Record number: 22, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The angular momentum of a tumbling orbiting satellite is changed to reduce the spinning of the spacecraft such that the spacecraft can operate in an essentially stabilized condition. The change in spin rate is accomplished by the development of a magnetic torque by commutation of magnetic air coils in response to Earth sensor signals controlled by spacecraft logic. The coils are disposed to produce magnetic dipoles transverse to the satellite spin axis such that by interacting with the Earth's magnetic field a torque is developed in a direction opposite the spin vector. The logic selects the proper magnetic dipole based upon data from sensors detecting the presence of the Earth for the development of the desired magnetic torque. 5, record 22, English, - magnetotorquer
