A process for reducing a magnetized material to a neutral state, that is, to a state when both the magnetic induction B and the magnetic field strength H are equal to zero.(...) The standard demagnetization process involves applying a magnetizing force above a critical value for the material used, and successively reversing H in direction as the value of H is steadily reduced to a value less than those to be used in subsequent experiments. If the final value of H is essentially zero, the specimen is demagnetized. 4, record 6, English, - demagnetization

3, record 6, French, - d%C3%A9magn%C3%A9tisation

Theoretical studies have shown the potential scientific value of multi-spacecraft radio tomographic imaging of the magnetosphere. The <10 RE WIND perigee passes during August 2000 afforded a unique opportunity to test and verify the capabilities of radio tomography by measuring interspacecraft electromagnetic wave propagation parameters using the Radio Plasma Imager(RPI) on IMAGE as the transmitter and the WAVES instrument on WIND as the receiver.... We show how changes in the path-integrated electron density/magnetic field product can be unambiguously measured from this continuous, low signal to noise ratio, single frequency measurement. 2, record 7, English, - single%20frequency%20measurement

The degree of ordering in a system undergoing a phase transition can be made quantitative in terms of an order parameter. At temperatures above the transition temperature the order parameter has a value zero, and below the transition it acquires some nonzero value. For example, in a ferromagnet the order parameter is the magnetic moment per unit volume(in the absence of an externally applied magnetic field). 1, record 11, English, - order%20parameter

2, record 11, French, - param%C3%A8tre%20d%27ordre
