The Paterson Foundation was started in 1970 by Senator Norman McLeod Paterson. Since then, the foundation has been a devoted supporter of community organizations in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. The Life Science Association of Manitoba(LSAM) is the voice and organizational nucleus of Manitoba's life science industry. The CAHR(Centre for Aboriginal Health Research) is a joint initiative of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba, and the Foundations for Health. The CAHR was established through a generous contribution from the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs to the Fundraising campaign of the Foundations for Health for the construction of the Buhler Centre for Health Research.
