MR IMAGING [7 records]

Record 1 2018-07-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • International Bodies and Committees
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
OBS

The International Society of Magnetic Resonance(ISMAR) is the only international scientific organization that represents the whole range of the important research field of magnetic resonance(MR), in particular nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR), electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR), and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). These and other MR-methods are used as main research tools in a very wide range of fields including physics, chemistry, life sciences, materials research and medicine.

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
CONT

Another pattern of regional metabolic abnormality was present in the MELAS syndrome, where proton spectroscopic imaging demonstrated focal localization of abnormally increased lactate/creatine and decreased N-acetylaspartate/creatine to the regions of the stroke-like lesions on conventional MR images. Serial studies emphasized that the regional metabolic abnormalities in MELAS are highly variable as the stroke-like lesions appear and evolve.

Domaine(s)
  • Génétique
OBS

Record 3 2007-08-27

English

Subject field(s)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
DEF

A procedure in which radio waves and a powerful magnet linked to a computer are used to create detailed pictures of areas inside the body.

OBS

These pictures can show the difference between normal and diseased tissue. NMRI makes better images of organs and soft tissue than other scanning techniques, such as CT or X-ray. NMRI [is] especially useful for imaging the brain, spine, the soft tissue of joints, and the inside of bones.

OBS

The technique [is] called magnetic resonance imaging rather than nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMRI) because of the negative connotations associated with the word nuclear ...

French

Domaine(s)
  • Imagerie par résonance magnétique
DEF

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
DEF

[An apparatus that] uses a magnetic field, radiofrequency waves, and computerized image processing to produce cross-sectional images of the anatomy.

OBS

Record 5 2007-03-27

English

Subject field(s)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
DEF

The [process of] data capture during MR [magnetic resonance] imaging.

OBS

To improve the signal-to-noise ratio, multiple acquisitions of the same slice can be performed. These are then averaged during image reconstruction.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Imagerie par résonance magnétique
CONT

  • The Nose (Medicine)
CONT

The main suggestive imaging features for suspecting a chondronecrosis seem to be the lost of normal signal hyperintensity on T1 MR imaging or a focal lack of cortical bone on CT scans, just adjacent to a focal swelling of the pharyngo-larynx mucosa.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Nez (Médecine)
CONT

CONT

A case of Ramsay-Hunt syndrome has been studied with pre-and postcontrasts MR imaging, using a three-dimensional Fourier transform fast imaging with steady precession sequence with axially oriented sections and coronal reformatted images.(In Journal of computer assisted tomography, 1993, 17(3) 495-497, cited in PASCAL data base.)

CONT

The reformatted images and direct cross sectional images show evidence of an anterior spondylolisthesis of L5 on S1.
