MRNA VACCINE [3 records]

Record 1 2025-12-15

English

Subject field(s)
  • Immunology
CONT

Nucleoside-modified mRNA vaccines represent a new and highly efficacious category of mRNA vaccines.

OBS

nucleoside-modified messenger ribonucleic acid; nucleoside-modified messenger RNA; nucleoside-modified mRNA; modRNA: ... a synthetic messenger RNA (mRNA) in which some nucleosides are replaced by other naturally modified nucleosides or by synthetic nucleoside analogues.

OBS

nucleoside: A compound (such as guanosine or adenosine) that consists of a purine or pyrimidine base combined with deoxyribose or ribose and is found especially in DNA or RNA [ribonucleic acid].

Domaine(s)

OBS

Record 2 2021-10-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Immunology
OBS

After the mRNA [messenger ribonucleic acid] vaccine is administered, the body of the vaccinated person produces antigens by translating the administered mRNA. The antigens then stimulate the immune response. Since the vaccine does not contain the whole virus, it does not cause infection. Furthermore, the vaccine's mRNA does not enter the nucleus of the cell.

OBS

Most RNA [ribonucleic acid] vaccines developed to prevent COVID-19 are mRNA [messenger ribonucleic acid] vaccines.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Immunologie
OBS

Subject field(s)
  • Genetics
CONT

Nodavirus RNA Replication. We have constructed DNA plasmids and vaccinia virus recombinants that express the RNA replicase of a nodavirus. In the cytoplasm of transfected or infected mammalian cells, this enzyme selectively amplifies its own mRNA by RNA replication. The replicase can also amplify other RNAs if they contain appropriate cis-acting replication signals, and we are striving to harness this ability for vector, vaccine, and gene therapy application.

DEF
