MSDS [material safety data sheet] Compliance is the [Hazardous Materials Information Review] Commission's "scientific arm. "Our scientific evaluators review MSDSs and some labels of products associated with claims for exemption to make sure they provide enough health and safety information to comply with WHMIS [Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System] requirements.... At the conclusion of the MSDS review, a formal statement of decisions and order is forwarded to the claimant. If the MSDS does not meet requirements, the screening officer issues a formal order for its revision and follows up to ensure compliance.
