What is washed or wet-processed coffee? This is coffee prepared by removing the skin and pulp from the bean while the coffee fruit is still moist. Most of the world's great coffees are processed by the wet method, which generally intensifies acidity. In the traditional wet process, the coffee skins are removed(pulping), the skinned beans are allowed to sit in tanks where enzymes loosen the sticky fruit pulp or mucilage(fermentation), after which the loosened fruit is washed off the beans(washing). In the more modern shortcut demucilage or aquapulp method, the pulp or mucilage is scrubbed from the beans by machine. 3, record 6, English, - wet%2Dprocessed%20coffee

Coffee pulp is the skin of the coffee fruit. It represents 40 per cent by weight(fresh) of the fruit, and is separated from the fruit by mechanical action with the help of water. Another coffee by-product is mucilage, which can be removed from the depulped fruit by natural solid fermentation. It represents 20 per cent by weight(fresh) of the fruit. Both can be obtained together without introducing drastic and costly changes in coffee processing itself. As a matter of fact, it would be better to depulp the fruit with a minimum amount of water. 1, record 9, English, - depulp

Parsley. Medicinally, the two-year-old roots are employed, also the leaves, dried, for making Parsley Tea, and the seeds, for the extraction of an oil called Apiol, which is of considerable curative value... Parsley fruit or 'seeds’ contain the volatile oil in larger proportion than the root(2. 6 per cent) ;it consists of terpenes and Apiol, to which the activity of the fruit is due. There are also present fixed oil, resin, Apiin, mucilage and ash. Apiol is an oily, nonnitrogenous allyl compound, insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and crystallizable when pure into white needles. The British Pharmacopeia directs that Apiol be prepared by extracting the bruised fresh fruits with ether and distilling the solvent. The residue is the commercial liquid Apiol.
