The recording of information derived from examination and analysis of mud circulated out of the hole and drill-bit cuttings.

OBS

A portion of the mud is diverted through a gas-detecting device and examined further under ultraviolet light for the purpose of detecting the presence of oil or gas. Mud logging is often carried out in a portable laboratory set up at the well.

Pour ce qui est de l'efficacité du forage, la diagraphie de boue renseigne sur l'état dynamique du puits et permet d'optimiser les propriétés de la boue de forage.
