The stomach is a J-shaped organ that digests food. It produces enzymes(substances that create chemical reactions) and acids(digestive juices). This mix of enzymes and digestive juices breaks down food so it can pass to [the] small intestine.... [The] stomach sits in [the] upper abdomen on the left side of [the] body. The top of [the] stomach connects to a valve called the esophageal sphincter(a muscle at the end of [the] esophagus). The bottom of [the] stomach connects to [the] small intestine. 2, record 1, English, - stomach

Tetanus(lockjaw) is caused by neurotoxins produced by the bacteria Clostridium tetani, particularly in deep or closed wounds, such as puncture wounds, but may occur, due to intestinal infections. This highly fatal disease is a constant threat for all horses as the bacteria are widely distributed in soil and manure.... Clinical signs of tetanus in affected horses begin following an incubation period of 3 days to several weeks, but usually 1 to 2 weeks. Muscle spasms and stiff paralysis progressing from the head to the neck, front, and then hind legs occurs.... The horse may be unable to swallow, resulting in saliva dripping from the mouth and regurgitation of ingested food and water through the nose. Convulsions, muscle rigidity, sweating, and fever may follow. 3, record 2, English, - tetanus

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 2, French, - t%C3%A9tanos

Zenker's diverticulum develops when the muscle between the throat and esophagus, known as the cricopharyngeus muscle, over-tightens, causing the throat above it to pouch out. Overtime, the pouch can enlarge as the muscles below it tighten excessively. Food can catch in this pouch or it can cause an obstruction. It can also make it difficult to take medications – particularly pills, which could get caught. 2, record 3, English, - Zenker%26rsquo%3Bs%20diverticulum

Motor nerves in the peripheral nervous system carry information from the brain to the body. Scientists came up with the name "motor" because the first motor nerves studied were those that help with muscle movement, or what scientists call motor function. It was later discovered that motor nerves have other purposes in addition to making muscles move. They also send messages from the brain and the spinal cord to body organs. For example, motor nerves help the process of digestion by stimulating cells in the stomach to break down food chemically. 2, record 4, English, - motor%20nerve

Contaminated, the disinfectant-detergent residual looses its germ-killing effect. This type of product should not come in contact with food, be used around open(unprotected) food products, or be applied to food preparation surfaces. If a germicide is applied into soil, the germicide will be contaminated and rendered ineffective. Once a surface that has been properly treated with a germicide is touched by a human, animal, plant, or something "dirty", washing, rinsing, and treating must be performed again in order to reinstate the protection.
