Diffusion nucléaire résonnante vers l’avant. Le domaine d’étude principal de la NFS est la détermination des paramètres hyperfins tels que les champs magnétiques internes, la séparation quadripolaire, les déplacements isomériques et le facteur de Lamb-Mössbauer […], qui fournit la fraction de noyaux résonnants. Le dispositif expérimental utilisé pour la NFS est très similaire au dispositif standard pour la SM [spectrométrie Mössbauer]. Cependant, alors que la spectrométrie Mössbauer est une spectrométrie d’absorption (un photon [gamma] est absorbé par un noyau), la NFS est une spectroscopie de diffusion. La radiation «blanche» synchrotron excite tous les niveaux Mössbauer dans l’échantillon et crée un état nucléaire collectif cohérent. Cet état nucléaire va décroître dans la direction vers l’avant et donner naissance à un excédent d’intensité à des temps retardés.
