Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The oldest technique for consolidating a web is mechanical bonding, which entangles the fibers to give strength to the web. Under mechanical bonding, the two most widely used methods are needlepunching an spunlacing(hydroentanglement). Hydroentanglement uses high-speed jets of water to strike a web so that the fibers knot about one another. As a result, nonwoven fabrics made by this method have specific properties, as soft handle and drapability. 6, record 2, English, - spunlace%20nonwoven%20fabric

Composite geotextiles are usually produced by combining multiple layers of knitted, woven, and/or nonwoven fabrics and bonding the layers together by a stitching or needlepunching process. Composite geotextiles are made of several layers of geotextiles and/or geotextile related products. Examples are : Combinations of multiple layers of woven and/or nonwoven fabrics bonded together by stitching, needlepunching, heatbonding, etc. Combination of one or two geotextiles, acting as filters, with an open core material, where fluids can flow easily, to form prefabricated drainage structures. 6, record 4, English, - composite%20geotextile

Nonwoven geotextiles are formed from filaments or fibers arranged at random and bonded together into a planar structure. The filaments or the fibers are first arranged into a loose web, then bonded together using one, or a combination, of the following processes : Chemical bonding.... Thermal bonding.... Mechanical bonding by needlepunching : thousands of small barbed needles, set into a board, are punched through the loose web and withdrawn, leaving filaments or fibers entangled. One thus obtains needlepunched nonwoven geotextile. 3, record 5, English, - needlepunched%20nonwoven%20geotextile

Mechanically bonded geotextiles are formed by deliberately entangling the filaments to form comparatively loose bonds where the filaments cross over. As the process used to achieve this mechanical bond is known as "needle-punching" these geotextiles may also be referred to as needle-punched geotextiles. Needle-punching involves repeatedly driving thousands of barbed needles into the loose sheet of polymer filaments. 3, record 6, English, - needle%20punched
