Pit sawing operations have a long and vibrant history. Well before circular saws were used to saw logs lengthwise, they were processed by placing them over a "pit"-hence the reference to "pit saw. "The saw operates vertically up and down. Operated by two men, a man on top, known as the "Top Dog", guided the saw as it was pulled down in a cutting motion by the "Underdog. "The "Top dog" recovered the saw and the "Underdog" then pulled it down in a cutting motion again. Needless to say the "Underdog" copped a fair bit of sawdust. The top of the saw has a fixed "tiller handle" so the topdog can guide it and cut a straight line. The lower part of the saw has a "block" which is easily detachable with a wedge. The [avalanche-control team skis] above the avalanche starting zone and throw a dynamite charge of around 2. 5kg. This is a dangerous operation as it involves the direct handling of explosives and the [team] may get caught in the avalanche.... Even in modern, well equipped stations such as Val d’Isère this method is still employed. More rarely, ski cutting is also used. This consists of a [skier] traversing a slope at a certain angle and speed on skis, this is often enough to weaken the bonds between snow layers starting a slide. personal phone number service :Needless to say, the service is not exactly cheap. All unplanned long-distance costs are borne by the subscriber, and the basic fixed charge is the equivalent of around FF70 per month. However, in addition to the automatic "scheduling agent, "the user can make use of services which filter calls in various ways. For example, one can decide to only let through calls from people who have a predetermined code, or find out who the caller is before answering. Bell is reluctant to portray the new service as heralding the lifetime individual phone number. "People already have enough numbers to deal with, ": says Jacques Houpert. "Surveys have shown that in most user's eyes, the idea of a lifetime number smacks too much of regimentation and compulsory ID cards. It's seen as like being tattooed.

The basis of compensation is the portion of the export sale providing the starting-point in measuring the compensatory commitment. Il s'agit de la partie de la vente d'exportation à partir de laquelle s'évalue l'engagement de contrepartie. [Accession] is the situation where a non-signatory State becomes a party to the treaty at its own option by depositing in the manner required by the treaty an instrument of accession. Only if the treaty expressly provides is ratification of an accession necessary. Needless to say, if the constitutional processes of the acceding State require submission to the legislature this must be done before the accession is completed. 1, record 17, English, - acceding%20State
