The National Seafood Sector Council(NSSC) is a unique partnership, bringing together employers, employees, unions, associations, regulatory agencies and training centres to work toward one common goal : a strong and prosperous seafood processing industry created by a well trained and productive workforce. The NSSC is a non-profit, industry driven organization. Established in 1995, the NSSC works on behalf of the entire seafood processing industry to provide up-to-date training programs and information services.

A chemical wood pulping process using a neutral sodium sulfite-sodium carbonate cooking liquor. The cook is carried out under slightly alkaline conditions, but with the final separation of the fibers made by unpressurized means after the initial cook has been completed.

Pâtes mi-chimiques [...] Le procédé au sulfite neutre de sodium ou procédé au monosulfite («neutral semichemical process, NSSC process») occupe à lui seul tout le champ de cette catégorie. La liqueur se compose d'une solution de monosulfite de sodium tamponnée par du carbonate ou de l'hydroxyde de sodium afin de maintenir un pH neutre ou légèrement basique. Ce procédé convient particulièrement à la cuisson des bois de feuillus, et a d'ailleurs été mis au point pour permettre l'utilisation du bois dont on avait extrait le tannin. Le procédé au monosulfite se prête bien à la cuisson en continu, et le matériel employé est essentiellement le même que pour le procédé au bisulfite.
