The International Nuclear Event Scale [INES]. Level 7. Major accident. Criteria. External release of a large fraction of the radioactive material in a large facility(e. g. the core of a power reactor). This would typically involve a mixture of short and long-lived radioactive fission products(in quantities radiologically equivalent to more than tens of thousands of terabecquerels of iodine-131). Such a release would result in the possibility of acute health effects; delayed health effects over a wide area, possibly involving more than one country; long-term environmental consequences. 1, record 25, English, - %20major%20accident

The present invention relates to a modular nuclear fuel element, which can be adapted by an assembly system allowing it to be used in different nuclear power plants with horizontal and vertical cooling channels. The module is a cluster of parallel fuel rods mounted as circular concentric crowns and supported by a structural system. It has a single diameter fuel rod array where the ratio of the heat transfer area to the transverse rod area is higher than 330. It also has self-supporting fuel element spacer grids, which are collapsible sheaths attached to them with fewer than 13 welded end stoppers. 2, record 26, English, - fuel%20element%20spacer%20grid

The planar detector consists of a crystal of either rectangular or circular cross section and a sensitive thickness of 1-20 mm... The electric field is perpendicular to the cross-sectional area of the crystal. The crystal thickness is selected on the basis of the gamma-ray energy region relevant to the application of interest, with the small thicknesses optimum for low-energy measurements(for example in the L-x-ray region for special nuclear material). Planar detectors usually achieve the best energy resolution, because of their low capacitance; they are preferred for detailed spectroscopy, such as the analysis of the complex low-energy gamma-ray and x-ray spectra of uranium and plutonium. 1, record 31, English, - planar%20detector

2, record 31, French, - d%C3%A9tecteur%20planaire

The Northern Dimension aims at addressing the special regional development challenges of northern Europe. These include harsh climatic conditions, long distances, wide disparities in standards-of-living, environmental challenges includings problems with nuclear waste and waste water management, and insufficient transport and border crossing facilities. Kinetic energy kill systems can either be of the rocket-propelled missile type, or of the hypervelocity gun system. The High Frontier study sees the deployment of carrier satellites with conventional missiles as a practical proposition. The total mass of such a system precludes comprehensive deployment. A more promising area for research into kinetic energy kill systems is to be the hypervelocity electromagnetic railgun. This system uses a high energy electromagnetic field to accelerate a hit-to-kill projectile to speed of the order of 5-25 km per second. Again, the power requirements for such a system are prodigious, and are likely to need nuclear generators. 2, record 51, English, - hypervelocity%20electromagnetic%20railgun

[The] B-2 Spirit originally started as Project Senior CJ and [was] later renamed as ATB(Advance Tactical Bomber). The B-2 uses four F-118 Turbofans.... The turbofan has intake and exhaust at the top of the aircraft to prevent ground control to spot them. The pilot and co-pilot are seated side by side in a zero-zero vertically ejecting ACES II seats.... a B-2 can get updates for GPS satellites to avoid ground firing while the pilot spots the target. Once the target is found, the pilot will turn on special radar, which only scan the target area and once spotted the B-2 will launch its nuclear ordnance or SRAM II missiles.... the B-2 provides the penetrating flexibility and effectiveness inherent in manned bombers. Its low-observable, or "stealth, "characteristics give it the unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most sophisticated defenses and threaten its most-valued, and heavily defended targets. Its unrefueled range is approximately 6, 000 nautical miles(9, 600 kilometers). The B-2's low observability is derived from a combination of reduced infrared, acoustic, electromagnetic, visual and radar signatures. 2, record 70, English, - advanced%20tactical%20bomber

1, record 72, French, - zone%20int%C3%A9rieure
