The NPT is [an] international treaty whose objective is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament. The treaty represents the only binding commitment in a multilateral treaty to the goal of disarmament by... nuclear-weapon states. Opened for signature in 1968, the treaty entered into force in 1970. On [May 11, 1995], the treaty was extended indefinitely. 7, record 1, English, - Treaty%20on%20the%20Non%2DProliferation%20of%20Nuclear%20Weapons

At the nuclear level, binding energy is also equal to the energy liberated when a nucleus is created from other nucleons or nuclei. This nuclear binding energy(binding energy of nucleons into a nuclide) is derived from the nuclear force(residual strong interaction) and is the energy required to disassemble a nucleus into the same number of free, unbound neutrons and protons it is composed of, so that the nucleons are far/distant enough from each other [and] the nuclear force can no longer cause the particles to interact. 4, record 2, English, - nuclear%20binding%20energy
