3, record 4, Spanish, - paraclonaci%C3%B3n

The [nuclear] core codes can include evolution modules to update the composition of the fuel during the burn up. These codes solve the nuclide evolution equations … They can contain also special modules to furnish information for the definition of interpolation parameters … The multi-parameter tables are prepared by the cell codes but we need information on the power production and on the medium properties to effectuate the interpolation and to apply the cross-sections computed in cell codes. Sometimes, some codes which simulate simplified thermal hydraulic calculation are employed to feed information back to the interpolation algorithms. 1, record 5, English, - multi%2Dparameter%20table

1, record 5, French, - table%20multiparam%C3%A9tr%C3%A9e

Abstract.... Pressurised light Water Reactor(PWR) are the most common nuclear reactors used today. It is necessary for each neutronic code to be validated for this type of reactor. The goal of this work is to create a complete calculation scheme which can be applied to the evolution of the core of a pressurised light water nuclear reactor using the lattice code DRAGON and the reactor code DONJON. Each step of this scheme will be validated by comparisons with other codes or with experimental results. The unit cell calculation will be computed for a benchmark … The assembly calculations will be used to compare the results given by DRAGON, APOLLO2 and MCNP [codes] for an assembly used by EDF [Électricité de France] for code testing. The core calculations will show that the codes DRAGON and DONJON can produce accurate macroscopic results for a real core. 1, record 6, English, - assembly%20calculation

2, record 6, French, - calcul%20d%26rsquo%3Bassemblages

Somatic cell nuclear transfer(SCNT) cloning... is accomplished by taking two cells – an egg cell from a female and a somatic cell from the person or animal to be cloned. The nucleus of the egg cell is removed and discarded. The nucleus from the somatic cell is then transferred to the [enucleated] egg cell. The egg cell and its new nucleus are fused together with the expectation it will grow. If cell division and growth is accomplished, the clone's life has begun. 3, record 8, English, - somatic%20cell%20nuclear%20transfer%20cloning

Since the entire urinary collecting system from renal pelvis to urethra is lined with transitional epithelium, its epithelial tumors assume similar morphologic patterns. They range from small benign papilloma to large invasive cancers. Large papillomas may develop, usually in the bladder, ranging from 1 to 3 cm in diameter. In these, the epithelium is generally somewhat atypical, with some variability in cell and nuclear size and some disarray in the cells’ normal relationships to one another. The immediate-early gene NGFI-B encodes an orphan nuclear receptor that binds DNA as a monomer and activates transcription through a canonical response element(NBRE). NGFI-B is expressed under basal conditions and in response to external stimuli in many mammalian tissues. In particular, NGFI-B expression is dramatically elevated in the adrenal cortex in response to stress and in Y1 adrenocortical cells in response to adrenocorticotropin. NGFI-B activates transcription through a NBRE of the gene encoding 21-hydroxylase(P450c21) in Y1 cell. 2, record 37, English, - orphan%20nuclear%20receptor

1, record 37, French, - r%C3%A9cepteur%20nucl%C3%A9aire%20orphelin

A very original set of experiments carried out by the Unit of Molecular Biology of Gene Expression concerns another protein essential for mouse development that is also a transcription factor. This factor known as KBF2 or RBP-Jk is homologous to a Drosophila gene product, Su(H)(Suppressor of Hairless), which belongs to the Notch signal transduction cascade involved in regulating the competence of a cell to respond to specific developmental cues. A likely function of the Su(H) protein is to serve as an anchor on DNA for non DNA-binding transcriptional activators. This function is conserved in the Notch pathway : the activation of this transmembrane receptor likely involves a proteolytic cleavage step which releases its intracellular domain; following nuclear translocation, it activates its target genes by binding to the Su(H) protein, which is already bound to several sites in the target promoters. 2, record 40, English, - Su%28H%29%20protein

Activin, a member of the transforming growth factor-beta family of peptides, is implicated in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation in a variety of biological systems. We have sought to identify immediate early genes whose altered expression may provide a common nuclear event involved in activin-regulated phenotypic changes in many cell types. In both human K562 myelogenous leukemia and rat PC12 pheochromocytoma cells, activin treatment caused transient transcription-dependent and protein synthesis-independent increases of junB messenger RNA(mRNA) within 1 hour...
