Self-sintering … was a process … to isolate and immobilize nuclear waste. The goal was to convert the waste to a glass that was resistant to leaching by water. The concept was to let the energy released by the radioactive decay of the waste heat … enough to drive off the water and eventually produce a solid, sintered glass product. … This technology was not advanced... 1, record 2, English, - self%2Dsintering

Ceramic engineers are specialized materials engineers who work with ceramics, which are nonmetallic, inorganic materials that are processed at high temperatures. Glass, porcelain, brick, and cement are all examples of ceramics. Ceramic engineers develop new ceramic products as well as methods and equipment for processing ceramic materials. "Colour" in the name "colour-glass condensate" refers to a type of charge that quarks and gluons carry as a result of the strong nuclear force. The word "glass" is borrowed from the term for silica and other materials that are disordered and act like solids on short time scales but liquids on long time scales. In the "gluon walls, "the gluons themselves are disordered and do not change their positions rapidly because of time dilation. "Condensate" means that the gluons have a very high density. 2, record 4, English, - colour%2Dglass%20condensate

1, record 14, French, - canal%20de%20d%C3%A9charge

There have been constant problems with entrainment of sediment into the cooling water intake since the nuclear plant was commissioned. To solve the problem, Ontario Hydro built a sediment collecting system in the headrace canal in 1990. Built of concrete, the system is shaped like a funnel about 20 m in diameter.
