The Women's Secretariat of the Government of Alberta coordinates the province's Stepping Stones Program, which provides occupational role models to girls and boys in junior and senior high school. Through classroom presentations, students meet and interact with women who are successfully pursuing occupations considered non-traditional for their gender. Students learn about the changing workplace, and young women, in particular, see that career choice need not be limited by gender. Le Women's Secretariat du gouvernement de l'Alberta coordonne l'application de ce programme de la province qui consiste à présenter aux jeunes filles et garçons des écoles intermédiaires et secondaires, des modèles de rôles dans les carrières. Grâce aux exposés présentés en classe, les étudiants et étudiantes ont la chance de rencontrer des femmes qui ont réussi à poursuivre des carrières non traditionnelles. Les étudiants se familiarisent avec les changements du marché du travail, et les jeunes femmes de manière plus spécifique, peuvent se rendre compte que le choix de carrière n'est pas en relation avec le sexe.
