OPERATIONAL LIMIT [7 records]

Record 1 2021-12-21

English

Subject field(s)
  • Measuring Instruments
  • Sonar and Underwater Detection (Military)
CONT

As the survey operations frequently take place away from [the] mainland or suitable islands or coral reefs, a bottom mounted tide gauge(BMTG) was needed. These gauges had to have [an] operational depth limit of at least [200 metres] and produce [a] depth data with an accuracy of 0. 05%. Several deployment options were envisaged; from a free standing bottom deployment for long term data acquisition without telemetry, through shallow water installation with a hard wire connection to a shore telemetry station, to a bottom mounted gauge equipped with an acoustic modem for communication with [a] surface telemetry buoy for retransmission of the data...

  • Réacteurs nucléaires de fission
CONT

Pour estimer la marge de réactivité admissible dans le cœur [du réacteur], nous avons utilisé les températures maximales dans un point chaud comme des critères limitants.

These were designed to correct the nonlinear range error, the drift of the target-centred display, and the saturation of the receiver by reverberation at short range, to limit the minimum transmission interval so as to avoid overloading the transmitter at short range, and to provide a separate rather than a switched remote display in the operations room – all faults observed during the operational evaluation.

  • Scientific Measurements and Analyses
  • Radioactive Contamination
  • Anti-pollution Measures
  • Radiation Protection
CONT

Interpretation of these dose limits in terms of individual nuclides to be released from a particular site leads to the Derived Release Limits (DRL). These DRL’s, which are approved by the AECB [Atomic Energy Control Board], tell each nuclear power plant operator how much of each nuclide it is allowed under law to release from the stations.

  • Mesures antipollution
  • Radioprotection
CONT

Subject field(s)
  • Environmental Law
  • Industrial Techniques and Processes
CONT

Processing standards include : a) emission standards which set limit values for pollution and disamenities which must not be exceeded in emissions from stationary sources; b) design standards for stationary plant prescribing the requirements to be observed with regard to environmental protection when planning and constructing stationary plants; c) operational standards stipulating the requirements to be met with regard to environmental protection when operating stationary plants.

OBS

Processing standards can either be the same for the whole economic area, or can vary from place to place in accordance with local differences in standards of environmental quality and the use made of them, but they must in any case be strict enough to ensure that the standard of environmental quality will be complied with.

OBS

Compare with "production standard".

Domaine(s)
  • Droit environnemental
  • Techniques industrielles
CONT
