ICRI is an unique environmental partnership that brings all the stakeholders together with the objective of sustainable use and conservation of coral reefs for future generations. ICRI is an informal mechanism that allows representatives of over 80 developing countries with coral reefs to sit in equal partnership with major donor countries and development banks, international environmental and development agencies, scientific associations, the private sector and NGOs to decide on the best strategies to conserve the world's coral reef resources. ICRI is not a permanent structure or organization, but an informal network that aims to catalyse the best strategies to conserve coral reefs and related coastal resources in the tropics. ICRI does not develop and fund proposals, but ensures that the needs of the developing world concerning their coral reefs are conveyed to operational and funding organizations.

EUMETSAT is an intergovernmental organisation created through an international convention agreed by 17 European Member States : Austria, Belgium, Danemark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Luxembourg will soon become the 18th Member State. These States fund the EUMETSAT programmes and are the principal users of the systems. EUMETSAT also has four Cooperating States : Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland and Croatia. EUMETSAT's primary objective is to establish, maintain and exploit European systems of operational meteorological satellites. EUMETSAT is responsible for the launch and operation of the satellites and for delivering satellite data to end-users as well as contributing to the operational monitoring of climate and the detection of global climate changes.

The objective of this work is to determine the effectiveness of changing the geometry of packed-bed immobilized enzyme/cell reactors. The results of the comparisons of tubular reactors with both tapered-bed and radial-flow reactors will be presented for both the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellobiose and the fermentation of glucose.
