In 2005, an investigation of fleet size and the capabilities required by the future naval fleet was undertaken on behalf of the Canadian Navy by the Defence Research and Development Canada(DRDC)-Centre for Operational Research and Analysis(CORA) Maritime Operational Research Team(MORT). This work, referred to as the "Fleet Mix Study"(FMS), was completed using Tyche-a computer program that is maintained, developed and validated in-house.

The Canadian Forces Electronic Warfare Centre(CFEWC) exists to deliver comprehensive EW support to CF military operations. CFEWC is endeavouring to be the expert authority on technical EW matters within the Canadian Forces. In 1990, the Electronic Warfare Operational Support Centre(EWOSC) project was initiated with the intent of consolidating operational, intelligence and engineering support to the CF EW community. Under the initial phase of the EWOSC project(IEWOSC), a centralized CF EW database was created, the environmental integrated support stations were established, EW threat analysis was begun and a common logistics and administrative support cell was stood up. The initial construction was completed in 1994. CFEWC is mandated with the maintenance and development of the CF Electronic Warfare Database(CFEWDB).

The GPCC(Global Precipitation Climatology Centre) is a central element of the Global Precipitation Climatology Project(GPCP) which was established by the WMO/ICSU [World Meteorological Organization/International Council of Scientific Unions] Joint Scientific Committee for the World Climate Research Programme [WCRP] at its Seventh Session(Lisbon, March 1986). The GPCC itself was established in August 1988 at the "Deutscher Wetterdienst"("DWD", National Meteorological Service of Germany) starting with a research and development phase. The GPCC is now going to be operational, and it is operated by the DWD as a contribution to international climate observation and research activities. The GPCC has internationally defined functions. In the future, the GPCC will act as a GCOS [Global Climate Observing System] specified global data centre for precipitation, and in this role, it will continue to participate in the GPCP, as agreed by WCRP, GCOS, and DWD. It also co-operates with WCP-Water, Global Runoff Data Centre(GRDC), UNEP-GRID Programme, and FAO Water-Department.

The Toulouse Space Centre(CST) has become a unique technical and operational centre in terms of both its size and the scope of its activities. Working in partnership with French industry, the CST develops complete space systems right through to their operational commissioning(e. g. positioning the Arabsat series), contributes to instrument design and development, participates in science projects and leads research or application programmes such as Spot, Hélios, Télécom, Argos and Sarsat-Cospas on behalf of CNES or space users. The CST is also responsible for the positioning and station-keeping of all satellites in CNES's charge. Its capabilities in the field of satellite operations are so renowned that it is used by French prime contractors to orbit satellites for operators outside France. The Toulouse Space Centre also runs a major research and technology programme. Its many technical facilities are used to investigate and analyse new basic technologies and to design future space systems.
