English

Subject field(s)
  • Sociology of Ideologies
DEF

A term used for a revised attitude to some previously accepted political situation, doctrine, or point of view.

OBS

The term initially referred to a policy first put forward in the 1890s by Edward Bernstein(1850-1932) advocating the introduction of socialism through evolution rather than revolution, in opposition to the orthodox view of Marxists.

OBS

The term may also improperly refer to Holocaust denial.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sociologie des idéologies
DEF

Record 4 2006-06-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • Solid Fossil Fuels
  • Transport of Oil and Natural Gas
CONT

The project would be designed for naphtha or natural gas. The fuel linkage for the project was cleared by the Ministry of Power and Natural Gas. The fuel for the plant would be transported either from ... Bombay or Madras by rail up to Sankarpally railway station, a mere two km away from the project site.

CONT

Energy needs to be looked at in totality, and not in segments and compartments. A matching fuel policy, for the power sector would have to be outlined to facilitate the creation of fuel linkages. Domestic supplies of primary fuels like coal, lignite, and other liquid fuels, would not be adequate for setting up the required capacity. There is a need to have an "import policy" for these fuels.

CONT

Major constraints for private sector projects is the lack of funding owing to poor financial condition of the state electricity boards; flux in privatisation policy of GOI [Government of India], particularly for fuel linkages and transportation; public sector projects feature protracted and contentious bidding procedures; all projects can face opposition by environmental and other pressure groups.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Labour Disputes
DEF

A procedure used by the Socialists, but more effectively by the Communists, to gain their objectives within the trade union movement. During the period in which the policy called for "boring from within", no separate, militant, or identified Communist union was set up. Instead, the objectives were to be achieved by infiltrating the existing conservative organizations, building opposition groups and an effective minority to disrupt or to establish a policy sympathetic to the Communist Party program.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Conflits du travail
CONT
