4-methylimidazole(4-MEI) is a compound used to make certain pharmaceuticals, photographic chemicals, dyes and pigments, cleaning and agricultural chemicals, and rubber products. 4-MEI is formed during the production of certain caramel coloring agents used in many food and drink products. It may also be formed during the cooking, roasting, or other processing of some foods and beverages.... Studies published in 2007 by the [U. S. ] federal government's National Toxicology Program showed that long-term exposure to 4-MEI resulted in increases in lung cancer in male and female mice. These findings were the basis for the addition of 4-MEI to California's Proposition 65 list of carcinogens. 6, record 1, English, - 4%2Dmethylimidazole

2-methylimidazole and 4-methylimidazole are intermediate/starting materials or components in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, photographic and photothermographic chemicals, dyes and pigments, agricultural chemicals, and rubber. These chemicals have been identified as undesirable by-products in several foods and have been detected in mainstream and sidestream tobacco smoke. The National Cancer Institute nominated 2- and 4-methylimidazole as candidates for toxicity and carcinogenicity studies. Toxicity studies were carried out in male and female F344/N rats and ... 7, record 1, English, - 4%2Dmethylimidazole

Concern has arisen about the presence of 4-MEI in caramel color (which is the most-used food and beverage coloring) ... Dark beers and common brands of cola drinks may contain ... 2, record 1, English, - 4%2Dmethylimidazole

... Since imidazole also exists in tautomeric forms, either of the nitrogen atoms can bear the hydrogen atom, the two nitrogens become indistinguishable and the numbering becomes rather complex for mono-substituted imidazoles. As a consequence of this, 4-methylimidazole is identical with 5-methylimidazole and, depending on the position of the imino hydrogen, such a compound may be designated either 4- or 5-methylimidazole. As only one substance that may be a single tautomer or an equilibrium mixture is known, it would be incorrect to call it eithier 4- or 5-methylimidazole. Such a compound is instead designated as 4(5)-methylimidazole. 8, record 1, English, - 4%2Dmethylimidazole

4(5)-methylimidazole; 4(or 5)-methylimidazole; 5-methylimidazole; 5-methyl-1H-imidazole: 4-methylimidazole and 5-methylimidazole are tautomers (structural isomers that are readily interconvertible) and are therefore usually considered to be synonymous (i.e. considered to be the same chemical compound). They have the same molecular formula and CAS Registry Number (CAS: Chemical Abstracts Service). 5, record 1, English, - 4%2Dmethylimidazole

The [Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation] selected five indicators for the SII [social inclusion index] dwelling satisfaction, neighbourhood satisfaction, satisfaction with feeling part of the community, sense of safety and economic hardship. A single-factor SII structure based on these five selected items indicated a good fit of the model to the data. In other words, the findings suggested that dwelling and neighbourhood satisfaction, feeling part of the community, sense of safety, and economic hardship are related in a way that represents a common underlying construct, although the extent to which this construct measures social inclusion warrants further research. 1, record 2, English, - good%20fit%20of%20the%20model

1, record 2, French, - bonne%20ad%C3%A9quation%20du%20mod%C3%A8le

This article briefly describes the PRRS(porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome), which arose in the winter of 1990 in Germany and other European countries... The clinical picture of this new disease, which led to important economical losses is dominated by 1. an increased rate of reduced length of pregnancy with late abortion before day 110 or an increased length of pregnancy; 2. an increase in stillborn piglets; 3. a larger scale of preweaning mortality combined with a higher frequency of secondary infections... Pathological findings in piglets are subcutaneous edema, accumulation of fluids in the body cavities and sometimes interstitial pneumonia is observed... At present a non-classified virus, isolated by Dutch researchers is proposed to be the causative agent and named Lelystad virus. 4, record 18, English, - porcine%20reproductive%20and%20respiratory%20syndrome

The dynamic amplification factor(DAF) is an important parameter in the design of highway bridges and yet no worldwide consensus has been reached so far as to its value. Some disagreement exists between provisions of various national bridge codes. This is because the DAF depends, in addition to the maximum span or the natural frequency, on many other parameters that are difficult to take into account with reasonable accuracy. Vehicle speed, weight, and dynamic characteristics, the state of the structure, roadway roughness, expansion joints, the type of bridge supports, soil-structure interaction, and influence of secondary elements are some aspects influencing the DAF. This study reviews the analytical and experimental findings on bridge dynamics and the evaluation of the DAF. 3, record 24, English, - dynamic%20amplification%20factor

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome(EDS) is a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders characterized by defects of the major structural protein in the body(collagen). Collagen, a tough, fibrous protein, plays an essential role in "holding together", strengthening, and providing elasticity to bodily cells and tissues. Due to defects of collagen, primary EDS symptoms and findings include abnormally flexible, loose joints(articular hypermobility) that may easily become dislocated; unusually loose, thin, "stretchy"(elastic) skin; and excessive fragility of the skin, blood vessels, and other bodily tissues and membranes. 2, record 30, English, - Canadian%20Ehlers%20Danlos%20Association

Cue summation theory has been a part of multichannel communication also. Severin stated in cue summation theory that stimuli which share informational content will improve learning because the stimuli reinforce each other(Severin, 1967) Other more recent studies have supported similar findings in that recognition and recall of textual information were increased when adding redundant audio.(Emerson & Tumey, 1984) 1, record 35, English, - cue%20summation%20theory
