The preparation of grids is recommended for outdoor disasters(aircraft crashes, railroad accidents and similar), in order to ensure more complete and effective processing of the resulting sectors. The arrangement of sectors in a chessboard pattern will facilitate the subsequent search for evidence and recovery of bodies substantially.... The grid consists of a base line which proceeds from or runs between identifiable fixed points on the ground as well as parallel lines drawn at intervals for instance of 10 m(but depending of the situation), thus forming square sections in which methodical searches can be conducted. To the extent possible, the grid should cover the entire disaster area. 2, record 5, English, - grid

2, record 5, French, - quadrillage

The use of flaps located on the trailing edge of an airplane wing to vary wing lift characteristics during various flight phases is well known. In the so-called single slotted flap arrangement, a wing flap is extended relative to the stationary wing of the aircraft so that a spanwise slot is formed between the trailing edge of the wing and the leading edge of the flap. This slot directs airflow from below the wing and the flap for subsequent discharge across the upper surface of the flap in the direction of and substantially parallel to the air normally flowing over the upper surface of the flap. 2, record 13, English, - single%20slotted%20flap

Nylon is chemical composition consisting basically of petroleum, air and water-Manufacturing nylon, however, is a complicated process. A molten polymer is extruded and forced through tiny holes to produce nylon filament fibres of various diameters. These filaments are "drawn" and twisted, to form yarns. In so doing the long superpolymer molecules are lined up into an orderly, parallel arrangement. This gives nylon yarn its strength, elasticity and lustre. 3, record 20, English, - nylon

Synthetic long-chain polymers. This group of fibers is distinguished by being synthesized or created by man from various elements into large molecules called linear polymers because they are connected in link-like fashion. The molecules of each particular compound are arranged in parallel lines or rows in the fiber, similar to the way fibers are arranged in yarn. This arrangement of molecules is called molecular orientation. The properties of such fibers are dependent upon their chemical compositions and kinds of molecular orientation. There are ten distinct varieties of synthetic long-chain polymers. 1, record 33, English, - synthetic%20long%2Dchain%20polymers

The stratum chart is a detailed line chart, while the 100 percent chart restates the information given in the stratum chart.(...) Although the one-hundred percent chart is shown in stratum form, a parallel columnar version would be equally effective. In our illustration the bars are shown in vertical, or "columnar" arrangement. It would have been just as feasible to extend the bars horizontally, beginning at various levels of the vertical axis.
