Record 2 2005-05-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Computers and Calculators
  • Internet and Telematics
DEF

A computer architecture in which each processor is connected to n others based on analogy to [the shape of] a hypercube of n dimensions.

OBS

The simple, regular geometrical structure and the close relationship between the coordinate system and binary numbers make the hypercube an appropriate topology for a parallel computer interconnection network. The fact that the number of directly connected "nearest neighbour" nodes increases with the total size of the network is also highly desirable for a parallel computer.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Ordinateurs et calculateurs
  • Internet et télématique
DEF

Record 3 1988-06-10

English

Subject field(s)
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Logic (Philosophy)
CONT

Building on Putnam's pioneering attempt to tackle the issues of knowledge in an idiom that makes sense in the contemporary cognitive milieu, certain philosophers have put forth their own analytic schemes. The Concept of "intentional system"(Daniel Dennett) is designed to play a role in the legitimation of mental descriptions parallel to the role played by the abstract notion of a Turing machine in setting down the rules for interpreting an artifact like a computer.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Intelligence artificielle
  • Logique (Philosophie)
OBS

intentionnel : doté d'intentions. Voir ce concept chez Husserl.

OBS

Voir aussi "apprentissage intentionnel" et modèle.
